  1. That's the kind of crap that happens when things aren't going our way.
  2. One or two runs here out of nowhere would be nice
  3. Obviously, they're losing because they don't want to win these games.
  4. oh well... slumps happen It's frustrating, but they happen. ebbs and flows
  5. OK, the novelty has worn off. They need to get this guy off already, wtf...
  6. Remember how worthless that spaz Hunter Pence was against the Brewers?
  7. they still get two cracks at the mets' bullpen, which is completely capable of blowing a 2-run lead. plus it's just a bit ridiculous to say the wheels are falling off the brewers wagon after one (potential) loss, even as a joke just about as ridiculous as it gets around here when we lose
  8. omgz this cant be... the brewers are unloseable
  9. And wow at that tiny toons song... I remember that shizz.
  10. Webb is getting hit sort of hard. Here's hoping he "struggles with his mechanics" for the rest of this year and the playoffs =P~
  11. I'd imagine if the Angels had Rich Harden or a struggling Z, they'd do it too.
  12. Haha, who's still following us compared to the wild card?? We're making the playoffs, live with it. Is THIS a joke? omg Why? I understand that we're fans of the Cubs and we should watch what we say about stuff like this, but we're making the playoffs. Let's say the Cubs slump and go 10-15 down the stretch. The Phillies would still have to go 20-5 just to tie us. The Cards would have to go 21-4. Niether team is equipped for that kind of run. AHHHHH I NEVER SAID WE WERENT GOING OT MAKE THE PLAYOFFS I WOULD BET MY LIFE ON THEM MAKING THE PLAYOFFS WHY DOESNT ANYONE UNDERSTAND WHAT THE HELL IM WAS SAYING!!!!! AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Again, I understood what you were saying. I was just making fun of you for feeling the need to even point out that we lost a .5% of a chance in our playoff odds.
  13. We should be happy Z didn't go today. It's a good thing. The fact that there's been something wrong lately wasn't news.
  14. Stop being worried about the D'Backs... They're barely an above .500 team. Yes, they beat us last year, but that doesn't mean they will this year. They're just about as dangerous as any other team in the playoffs (they all are). Probably slightly more so, but nothing worth freaking out about. Face it. Our season comes down to who wins 3 out of 5 regardless of who we face, and any team could knock us out.
  15. The way the Brewers are playing, I don't think 15-5 is out of the question at all. That's if the Cubs only play .500 the rest of the way... which I don't think they've done all year over the course of that many games...
  16. Please retitle the thread before the hysterics start.
  17. wait, this has to be a joke post it is, right?? Oh geez dude, I meant they are going down like from 99.9% to 99.4% I know, which is why it has to be a joke, right? No I just meant that as someone who has been following the Cubs playoff odds on various sites for the last few weeks, I finally saw them get to 99.9%, but after losing a game in the standings to the 2nd place team in the Wild Card, it will surely go down. Reading the post again, I can understand a little why it was taken that way but use some logic. I've been trying to hard to not offend the Pessimism Police over the last 2 months, so it was weird when I made that post and came back to find multiple people calling me out on it like I think the Cubs will blow a 10 game lead in the final 26 games. I'm not trying to call you out. Just making fun of you. :)
  18. It's not a matter of what was or wasn't expected. The fact is that they were wins, regardless of who they played or what we expected the outcome to be, wins that count against anything favorable for the Cubs. And obviously a bunch of wins in a row vs. the Pirates says something about how they'll do against the Mets, which is essentially what you were implying.
  19. I honestly thought/was hoping you were being sarcastic, given the recent strides you've made..
  20. I'm saying... it's not even worth pointing out, lol
