  3. I can't agree that Warren has been good, and I wouldn't argue if someone pointed to Cahill and Wood's peripherals, but in spirit I'm with you. The Cubs have one of the best relievers in the game at closer and a very good setup man. Neither Cahill, Wood, nor Warren has been as good as they were last year so the middle innings aren't quite as rock solid, but it's still quite good. By giving up 3 runs in 4+ IP today, they upped their ERA for the month to 3.66, 11th in MLB/5th in the NL. yeah, cahill has been walking guys at a rate of 6 per 9ip...he has not been good unless all you look at is ERA warren has been terrible overall...idk how anyone can say he's been really good. that doesn't mean i think he is terrible, but he absolutely has been terrible.
  4. when we win 115 i'm putting an asterisk on it thanks to this one
  5. we've hit danny espinosa SIX times this season??
  6. honestly i have an issue with cahill ever being in there
  7. for crying the horsefeathers out loud
  8. hell yeah. horsefeathers you guy. you're still even playign this game because that same ump gifted your teammate a walk
  9. yeah that's pretty much baseball 101, swing anytime there are 3 balls in the count. He was referring to Javy's usual desire to swing at everything after reaching a 3 ball count
  10. Are you thinking of another Albert Almora? But yeah, assuming Fowler walks, that'd be the scenario barring a trade. Why are you trolling my [expletive] posts now? And yes, he has speed. Granted, he hasn't stolen that much in his career, but he has a career high 10 this year and only been caught twice, and has legged out a couple doubles in the majors in his brief time so far. And based on the makeup of this roster, he could be the 3rd fastest player on the team. And I wouldn't say Fowler and Baez are very far ahead of him in a footrace. Huh? I wasn't trolling anything. Almora's speed hasn't been considered much of an asset since he was drafted. In fact, the book on him has always been how he's great defensively despite not being fast. He's obviously fast enough to play CF and run the bases decently, but he's hardly the type of guy I'd think of as a guy you put on the playoff roster because of speed. That would be like a Billy Hamilton or even Quintin Berry. It just struck me as funny to bring up Almora's speed when that has always been one of the knocks on him and was one of the narratives as he was coming up. It's not like I disagreed with your overall point.
  11. I'm usually not one of these lunatics but I can't follow this game anymore. I'm too pissed off that this game is still going because of the umpire.
  12. horsefeathers THIS UMP AND THIS GAME
  13. It's a very valid thing to hate anyway.
  14. Dusty pulling all the right strings
  15. I feel like when Joe gives you a planned day off, you get the day off. I feel like that's not true at all.
  16. this game is awful. pitchers' duels are the most overrated thing ever. for the birds.
  17. It's kind of weird/hilarious that being reasonable and having good idea of perspective is your idea of sarcasm.
