  1. i cant even believe i shared that on here but, horsefeathers, this is a three page thread about ass wiping
  2. gotta go both ways. i discovered this at some point in my teens when i had the epiphany that i should try a back to front wipe after the last front to back wipe checked out clean...i dont know exactly wtf is going on down there but it suddenly dawned on me that i had been leaving my ass dirty my whole life up to that point. just because it's clean in one direction doesn't mean it is in both. always start front to back tho so i'm not wiping the heavier stuff into my balls at the beginning.
  3. don't think anyone even speculating on a return this year would go as far as to think they'd put him in LF or C...more like pinch hit weapon off the bench, maybe world series DH oh man how awesome would that be. Schwarbs spends 4 weeks in Arizona hitting and getting his timing and then becomes the DH for game 1 of the World Series. The only [expletive] thing about that scenario is him not being in the dugout for the playoff run. complete tangent but it just hit me how insane our road world series crowds will be (whenever that happens)...we already show up big time on the road in the playoffs. i can't imagine how overwhelming it would be in the series and how pissed off the other fanbase will be as a result.
  4. I certainly want Schwarber back and destroying baseballs again, but unfortunately even if he is healing and regaining strength and all that -- there just isn't enough time left to send him to the minors or AZ to get game ready. Another problem is that we play in the wrong league -- no DH. Schwarber for this yr at least, is most likely only a DH right now. Getting full mobility, agility and the reps needed to play C and LF adequately would take a while. I'm not saying there is no chance, but its low. Very low chances unfortunately...maybe >1% (especially if they go far in the playoffs), but not by that much. No way is there a 10% of coming back this yr sadly. don't think anyone even speculating on a return this year would go as far as to think they'd put him in LF or C...more like pinch hit weapon off the bench, maybe world series DH
  5. I say 5% because every once in a while this FO does some crazy aggressive horsefeathers when you think they might err on the side of caution. Plus he seems pretty far along in his recovery already. But the reality is it'd be really hard for him to get up to game speed (even though we do have a massive lead and a bunch of basically meaningless games coming up).
  6. I think it's non-zero, but not nearly as high as 20%. Like 5%
  7. pretty sure a good FO could put together a consistent winner there (or anywhere). theo would figure that horsefeathers out.
  8. Well, that was pretty much everything I wanted to say in the Contreras piece I was planning. What's the disconnect on those numbers from his -0.1 defensive rating that's going into his WAR calculation? For catchers with at least 190 PAs (to get his 196), only Flowers, Gattis, and Montero are worse (32 total). That is largely a result of his 164 innings that have graded out poorly at a non-premium position (LF, where he has a -19.6 UZR/150). Bad grade at bad position = poor defensive WAR number. Further, I don't believe FG is incorporating any sort of pitch framing gain into WAR as of yet.
  9. i heard rozner talking out of his ass yesterday about how willson was completely lost and a mess behind the plate when he first came up. yep, i'm sure he went from "completely lost" to this in a few weeks. (mind you, i'm not saying he hasn't improved with major league instruction - i'm saying he wasn't anything resembling a disaster)
  10. is he sitting down or standing completely still or something? Playing catch is a different and lesser strain on the legs than pitching. Playing catch to keep the arm loose doesn't necessarily mean that the leg is ahead of schedule. I never meant to imply otherwise. The report itself is where the nugget that they are optimistic about it being closer to 4 weeks than 6 came from. It wasn't an inference by me.
  11. Though, he injured his leg, not his arm. is he sitting down or standing completely still or something?
  12. Did anyone see that Strop is already playing catch, btw? Heard it yesterday on the radio. Sounds like it might be closer to the 4 week than the 6 week timeframe.
  13. i liked this for reasons other than the one it was posted for [tweet] [/tweet]
  14. Offense looks pretty good
  15. Byproduct of having such predictable pitch selection?
  16. I think coomer just said when a guy has those two words at the end of his name, "S-Y" you'd think he'd get that call
  17. Lol this damn team. Is this more dominant than the first 5-6 weeks?
  18. Did that really just happen? How the horsefeathers? What is this guy's deal?
  19. Bums me out that it's almost certainly without sexy sexy tho
  20. Ahhh yes. I think that if we got to face the bottom feeder teams, this team would be good enough to break the playoffs crapshoot and win the world series three majority of the time, which is saying something, believe it or not
  21. Jeez Addy was so close to regaining the RBI lead
  22. [tweet]https://twitter.com/CarrieMuskat/status/766340126330855425[/tweet]
  23. Malls are at least temporarily outdated, no? Look at the non-established guys as prospects who just happen to be past rookie eligibility. The goal isn't just to graduate, but to help the Cubs dominate. Seems like playing the matchups like Joe has they have helped the Cubs dominate quite a bit. I don't see why there's any urgency to move away from the way the positions have been handled this year.
  24. I said before I think his likely path is Soriano with worse defense, baserunning and nagging injuries. Not without his value, but that's a whole lot of "ehhhhhh" when people start talking like he's looking like another can't-miss young player. Given the [expletive] pitching FA market and how old (and, quite frankly, REALLY lucky in terms of injuries) the Cubs' starting rotation is, using him as part of a deal to try and bolster that area doesn't seem like the worst idea. Hitting Soler is fun, but minus the NL looking like it's going to get the DH soon, I would mind at all if they opt to trade him if it looks like his value is back up to the point he nets something very good in return. I mean, I look at it as win-win either way. How is this a response to what you quoted?
