the play by play is really bad, but it has nothing to do with my distaste for his bumbling goofy country bumpkin sounding ass. he's not good at speaking. he isn't funny or anything (as far as a redeeming quality) and i really have no idea what the basis is for saying he's solid..his analysis is generally as meatbally and conventional old school wisdom as anyone (not that most of his peers in his profession are generally much better - so maybe that's where you're coming from?) i don't like a single thing about him. the pbp is just icing on the cake. The distaste for his voice is largely a person by person opinion, but the other important thing to remember is that the bar isn't high here. Color guys who are truly good aren't going to be doing radio, so we shouldn't be hoping for much more than a good rapport with their partner(Ron has this, Moreland painfully did not), and an ability to add descriptions to plays to round out the listening experience(Ron is okay at this). There are no radio versions of JD. i mean, i agree as far as the rapport with pat. that's about the only thing i find OK about him.
