  1. I have always enjoyed listening to Vin Scully. I think a big part of it is that he was the voice of the playoffs and World Series for a large part of my childhood. Hearing him broadcast a game now doesn't sound all that much different than it did 20-30 years ago. I have been going to bed each night this week with the Dodgers broadcast on MLB.tv and will likely continue to do that for most nights up until the end of the season. I'm sure some people have good reasons for disliking him, but for me he is easily the most iconic voice in baseball history and I want to listen to him as much as possible while I still can. I mean I get that...I kinda feel that way about Jon Miller and Morgan even though they are awful, especially Morgan. But he's a rambling old man and everyone tries to pretend he's still on top of his game.
  2. This is from the game thread and I don't want to mess with that one but I have to ask, what does this mean? People don't shoplift from Macy's? I had the exact thought lol Actually, a couple of kids I went to high school with got arrested for shoplifting from Marshall Field's.
  3. And then several other posts saying "the Cubs are scared of us" lmao i hope they come in here and see these poll results (i voted mets too)

  8. amazingly they got that out...i was 100% convinced they would get a hit once they moved both runners over w/2 outs
  9. i'm going to find myself in the barry rozner javy absolutely has to be at 2B camp in the playoffs after i was so against it (vs rhp)
  10. WGN camera guys blew that one. I was waiting to see his sad trot back out to the field. our division has a lot of hateable jags at 2B...phillips, harrison, wong, scooter
  11. hahaha get your ass back on the field phillips
  12. please oh please let this stand so brandon phillips has to go back out on the field
  13. damn i thought heyward had it for a second and was pimping the hell out of it
  14. what am i missing about the actual scores other than the fact that they've won a lot of one run games Maybe that they do well in all types of 1-run games? If this were only happening in 2-1 and 1-0 games, it might be indicative of having a few strong starters, with a lock-down bullpen, and maybe sprinkle in some elite defense. But, that's not really the case, anyway, as their bullpen has been bad. But, being 13-4 in one-run games in which they've given up at least 4 runs is really weird. I guess I never really saw it as anything very skill or merit based and mostly just dumb luck, so I hadn't given any thought to the whys.
  15. i just pictured walking into someone's bathroom and seeing their dirty anus brush hanging in the shower and i gagged
