when are you going to stop believing that hot is a thing (at least in the way that you use it)? especially a thing that will carry into games almost a week away
Looking on my phone and read from afar ( my arm outstretched out of the sight if my sleeping 3 year old) that it was a Fangraphs article. Boy talk about an abrupt surprise. Huh? Fangraphs? Edit - OH, nm. I get it. Carry on.
Good for him tho. Really has to suck to be him to lose that job right at that time. And how much of a longshot it was that it played out that way. Could've had a long successful career with Cubs world series rings and all kinds of awards and crap.
There is no other person on this pitching staff that we should put on for game one. Meh. I just have a very meatbally distrust based on his 2014-15 playoffs. At least he wasn't terrible last year but not dominant. Doesn't mean I don't agree that objectively he's been as good as anyone we have (Hendricks) and that he's deserving.
i mean at this point, i'd rather face them than the giants, not that it matters. the three team are all pretty mediocre. the main thing for me is avoiding thor and madbum (and maybe cueto) as much as possible. the cardinals have none of those. and tiebreaker games are always fun. having 3 one game playoffs to watch this week would be cool. horsefeathers St. Louis. If the choice is "only" two such games or 3 with at least one involving them, give me two. I'll gladly take knocking those pathetic peons out of the playoffs every year Bulls Knicks style.
why are we rooting against the cardinals today? I don't want the Cardinals anywhere near the playoffs. i mean at this point, i'd rather face them than the giants, not that it matters. the three team are all pretty mediocre. the main thing for me is avoiding thor and madbum (and maybe cueto) as much as possible. the cardinals have none of those. and tiebreaker games are always fun. having 3 one game playoffs to watch this week would be cool.
nice article also i just stumbled onto this while looking for something else. lmao how stupid. i expected it to be one of those bizarre fan articles you find on bleacher report or some random site. http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/chicago-cubs-have-young-talent-and-should-let-jim-hendry-reap-the-rewards-050811
would be pretty nice if we had been the ones to get hill and then we could throw him and lester at the dodgers in a playoff series instead of having to face him but oh well
+13, they shouldn't be contending they shouldn't have the record they do, but that run differential would still make them "a contender," much less "close to contending." ehhh close to contending, sure.
When we first got him, I remember a few people talking about how there were so many good GMs now that Theo wasn't THAT special compared to the replacement level executive. LOL
