    Seriously, this is insane. What does this mean? I'm not a betting man it means that if you bet on the giants moneyline, you would win $215 for every $100 wagered....so you're getting 2.15-1 the cubs are -255, which means you have to bet $255 to win $100

    And having an offense that is a lot better than the Giants 5 times out of 5. I like the Cubs chances. And a defense that is much better than the Giants also very good defense.

    pitching someone on 3 days rest is already pretty much always a bad idea...you wouldn't be surprised if he went 2 days rest (not to mention coming off a 119 pitch start)? has that even been done ever?

    And they all (well, Green not so much in the upper body, but I think 210 might be generous there) have pretty muscular and lean builds. Muscle weighing more than fat, I can't see how someone with less muscle at that same weight would be considered "ridiculously" skinny Kind of a pointless argument but w/e

    that's 2 days rest they won't do that, but they are more than welcome to, if they want.

    I'm with Derwood here. Guy I work with is 6'4" without much muscle tone and he likes to stay around 195-200. He's far from looking gangly or anything. Not that 210 is fat or anything, but based on that anecdote, unless you have some decent muscle on you, 210 is probably a smidge overweight. Definitely not ridiculously skinny.

    Javy becoming the next Leon Durham or Alex Gonzalez. 100 Bartman references. Bryzzo going 0-fer and developing a reputation as chokers. Knowing that even if next year's team wins 115, every article about them will ask if they can really hack it in the postseason. Arguments that we don't have a "true ace." Holy hell you're insufferable. Is this a shtick or is this actually how your mind works? Pretty sure it's both.

    horsefeathers how meatbally it might seem, i don't want anyone but montero catching arrieta in the playoffs and with how well he's been hitting (even if it is a lefty) it's enough for me not to care that much about same handed matchup in for a few ABs Fair enough, I'd be fine doing it if they feel it will really make a difference for Jake. I don't give a horsefeathers how well Montero looked in a limited sample on top of facing a LHP with his history vs them, I hope the "hot hand" theory isn't the reason for starting him. i'm not saying it overrides everything or is hugely important, but it's a lot more than a hot hand. he made a mechanical adjustment and has looked appreciably better since. to me, there's more to it than if he were just hitting better lately.
