  1. why are you so horsefeathering good at things like this with words?
  2. this is bill plaschke's most recent tweet [tweet] [/tweet]
  3. i liked when rizzo took that foul deep then hit a HR, then zobrist came up and almost did the exact same thing (at least, that's how i remember it, but i was a few beers deep)
  4. I was actually thinking similarly during the Game 3 loss, but I was like "thank god we have theo and he's smart enough not to overreact to how bad we've looked against two lefties." I was referring to my own previous comment about the Dodgers being so bad against lefties. We mashed lefties pretty good this year. Best in MLB vs LHP
  5. This morning, on Bovada you could (fairly inexplicably) get +135 on the Cubs for this series. They're now -170.
  6. I think it's a sort of cool storyline but I honestly couldn't give two horsefeathers if Cleveland breaks their drought, especially if it's against us. Cleveland got lucky enough to have the best basketball player of his generation be born in the region and feel beholden to it, and most of them are also Ohio State fans. They've seen plenty of titles in the last 15 years. I'd be glad to see the Tribe win if the Cubs lost to LA, but I can't say I'd care that much. college sports http://replygif.net/i/735.gif
  7. Bob Nightengale declaring a 2-2 series to be over is the strangest thing.
  8. I would have to guess when the Cubs clinch a WS berth they would have to be near 60% over the Indians to win the series over at 538. That's just about exactly where they'll be.
  9. Kind of funny that the Cubs are only 3% less likely than the Indians to win the World Series per 538, despite the fact that the Indians are actually already in the World Series.
  10. He's not the only one, LOL [tweet] [/tweet]
  11. It bothers me. I realize its a minority opinion and makes me sounds weird. I've been pulling for a Cubs-Indians WS all along, knowing that no matter what happens, some team would break a lengthy drought. I think it's a sort of cool storyline but I honestly couldn't give two shits if Cleveland breaks their drought, especially if it's against us.
  12. I watch the World Series when the Cubs don't have any shot at it. The years we have been good, though, I'll barely catch a few innings.
  13. Maybe. Guys go on 3 days rest in the playoffs all the time. But that's obviously not my concern. My concern is not wasting a great Hendricks start against an amazing Kershaw. Joe won't do it bc it's not zen. But it gives us the best chance to win the series. If you have the 2nd and 3rd best starters between the 6 left to pitch, you don't put them up against the best starter. You let the 4th or 5th best guy face him and significantly increase your chances to win the other 2. How about instead of wasting the outing the Cubs win the game? Kershaw is not an unstoppable force. Also, guys go on three days rest and do very poorly all the time.
  14. [tweet] [/tweet] i like this if only because Theriot got screwed
  15. They're better off sending Kershaw and Hill on full rest, IMO.
  16. Yup. i mean, you can CLEARLY see his hand come further down and touch the plate AFTER contreras tags him, so I'm not sure wtf there is even controversy about. his hand was over the plate but not on it. and even if you think otherwise, which may be fair, there was DEFINITELY no irrefutable evidence allowing an overturn.
  17. Dodgers were lucky to even get 2 runs in this game
