  1. They scored the 5th most runs in the league. 7th in wOBA, 6th in wRC+. Very good offense. They are also very good on the bases. Lindor, Kipnis, Ramirez, Santana, Napoli, and Naquin are all very good hitters. Guyer was also very good this year.
  2. kinda funny that we were facing the indians when the totally out of nowhere surprise call up for him to DH happened last year
  3. my eyes have welled up a few times since that night while looking at pics/video of the game but nothing too crazy. i actually remember getting a little more choked up hearing pat's call from the end of the NLDS last year. i'm sure it'll be next level if/when we finish the job.
  4. [tweet] [/tweet] glad he gets to get his feet wet against an easy defense
  5. YOU'RE Abe Frohman?
  6. If we believe the poster here claiming to be an insider, he's been hitting for a few weeks now. Nah I'm not some kinda insider. I just live next to, and watch baseball with, a good friend of his that played with him at IU so just dumb luck. so basically you're an insider i mean jon lester's father in law's friend was an insider
  7. [tweet] [/tweet] funny sidenote that the cubs and indians share an AFL team
  8. If we believe the poster here claiming to be an insider, he's been hitting for a few weeks now.
  9. Yeah. I mean the downside is he goes 0-3 or 0-4 or something instead of what Coghlan or maybe Soler vs. a righty would've done. The downside would be him trying to run the bases and aggravating the newly reconstructed knee. He is medically cleared. EDIT - NM, I see this was already addressed. But he's been medically cleared. This is a kind of a pet peeve of mine given the nonsense that happened with Rose. We don't need to wait for God to say he's good. If doctors said he's good to go, he's good...they wouldn't be taking a needless risk here.
  10. I don't think it's the same. There's not really a way for a guy to play a limited, specific role in soccer. I don't think it would've worked in another series, but with the AL rules for 4 games, and the diminished need for a deep bullpen, I don't think you lose much by having him on the roster. Yeah. I mean the downside is he goes 0-3 or 0-4 or something instead of what Coghlan or maybe Soler vs. a righty would've done.
  11. [tweet] [/tweet][tweet] [/tweet] a bunch more cool pics/vids of the cubs' WS bats being made at that account
  12. Maybe I'm just old and dead inside, or maybe I'm haunted by the fact that we were bad in 2012, but this stuff just doesn't feel as transcendent as it did when I was a kid or even in my 20s. If they win in game 5 while I'm out doing other things, I'll check my phone and see that they won and be happy. I'll watch all the replays and buy some merchandise and read the threads. Hell, if any of the games I'm home for turn into a five-hour extra inning monstrosity, I might just wait till the morning for the end of those too. ok, this edit confirms you are trolling because not even you can be this much of a lame ass.
  13. I know this sounds stupid, and my perspective would obviously change after a while, but right now, like 80% of how badly I want this to happen is just so that I can wear my damn World Series shirt the entire time I'm in Vegas in 2 weeks.
  14. You are correct, anyone saying that Schwarber is going to play in the AFL today is wrong. [tweet]https://twitter.com/CarrieMuskat/status/790576745388834816[/tweet] Second time TT has been wrong? I'm willing to go with Carrie probably being wrong.
  15. I don't even understand how you could both, at the same time, want to buy WS merchandise but be totally fine with missing the clinching game. http://i.imgur.com/cCqeu.jpg
  16. Maybe since it's a developmental league moreso than a competitive league, they're allowed to bend the rules in these situations. That or maybe he is not really on the taxi squad? I dunno. Or he's not actually playing.

If this is how you feel, what the hell are you doing even posting on a Cubs message board?
  18. Meh. Either way, it's happening as long as he doesn't have some sort of medical issue.
  19. Someone texted me and said that Joe confirmed on this program that Schwarber was going to make the WS roster, barring any setbacks today. Anyone catch this? Nope. Roster decisions being made in meetings later today. Not at all confirmed. Sounds like he did allude to it happening as long as all went well. I didn't actually hear the interview myself, though.
  20. there's not a horsefeathering thing on this earth short of a hospital that would keep me from watching a cubs potential world series clinching game
  21. just noticed theo's wife was at the game and on tv. was that the first time she was in the public eye since the introductory presser day?
