  1. barkley is getting fun bad
  2. ha i was trying to figure out why i didn't remember this game based on the description and then i realized i was actually at the game when i saw the russell hit
  3. hey it's cool when everything fun and good offering any glimmer of hope about this franchise is getting hurt at the very end of the season
  4. still haven't decided on wallace/lockett i'd start lockett but i already have wilson and baldwin...a little worried about how screwed i'd be if wilson has a bad week. happened to me earlier this year. especially against az's pass defense.
  5. i didn't read too in depth but i do think it's weird how it seemed like people were expecting people of all religions or w/e to do xmas and santa since it's not really about religion at this point i grew up around a lot of jewish kids (skokie) and none of the jewish kids celebrated christmas in any way whatsoever nor obviously did they do santa but again i didn't read that deeply so maybe i missed some context on what i did read
  6. This kinda wants me to see us get Bautista on a 1 year deal or 1+option. He's definitely getting less than EE. Move Heyward to CF and Almora/Jay are backups with Bustista in RF and Schwarber in LF. Have Bautista lead off who can replicate Fowler's OBP from last year. Bautista RF Schwarber LF Bryant 3B Rizzo 1B Zobrist 2B Russell SS Contreras C Heyward CF that might be the worst defensive OF in mlb history Not that necessarily wouldn't do it
  7. main difference is the cubs were the warriors in the regular season without being the finals warriors
  8. yeah whoops...idk what happened there. thanks.
  9. Dodgers have moved ahead of us in the FG projections. IIRC we were at 95 last I checked. What I'm not sure about is if that was before Fowler left (and included him). http://www.fangraphs.com/coolstandings.aspx
  10. Can you call him Baez when you're comparing him to Jay? For clarity? One letter difference makes me have to read too closely. How about Javi
  11. Did you steal that one from Brett?! Haha I was just reading about this game earlier today and remembering where I was when this annoyingly tight game turned into an RD game.
  12. Jay's defensive season was an outlier, Javy is never likely to replicate that defensive production (nobody is), and Javy is absolutely going to have worse offensive numbers if he starts facing righties less selectively (barring major approach changes/improvements). Keep using Javy the way he was used to try to hide his major warts as much as possible. There will be plenty of chances to use Javy just like last year. And Jay wasn't signed to not be the primary CF vs RHP. I just do not see that.
  13. i'm starting to feel very dumb for dropping philly's defense this morning and starting NYG
  14. Okay I'm far from a professional writer but I've always been under the impression a writer adds things in parenthesis to provide further context to attributed quotes when people say things like someones first or last name only. What the horsefeathers is going on in this paragraph? or to correct grammar Might've used nicknames in the case of some of those guys? That's all I got
  15. He's a moron. It would basically be the one choice of host that would make me stop listening to Bernstein's show. I'd even rather listen to Rozner.
  16. I think they'll win the central easily. Obviously things change and very unexpected things happen, but right now I think teams not named the Red Sox, Indians, Nationals, Cubs, and maybe the Dodgers in those divisions are playing for second place.
  17. The Cubs? They're playing Almora and Jay there. Are we not considering Heyward as the de facto full-time CF, with Zobrist in RF and Baez at 2B? Not that it matters in the grand scheme of things, but neither Jay nor Almora is likely to deserve more ABs than Javy over the course of the season. Jay alone was better than Javy last year even when Javy was propped up by very selective usage. I could see that alignment vs lefties if Almora struggles, but the defense with Almora or Jay in center is so much better. I think Heyward will primarily play as a RFer. Zobrist at 2B, Baez getting mixed in a little less selectively than last year is what I expect, but Baez will struggle more overall at the plate as a result.
  18. The Cubs? They're playing Almora and Jay there.

  20. Those are basically the main two scenarios I've been kicking around.
  21. So it hadn't occurred to me to check in a while but I was doing some research on something else and I noticed this. FWIW, in terms of DVOA, the Bears are ranked 18th in defense (14th weighted), 15th in offense (11th in weighted offense), 14th in special teams (18th weighted), and 21st overall.
  22. PPR? Yup
  23. update i'm in the championship game (was the lowest seeded playoff team)
  24. Boldin Dion Lewis Mike Wallace Ryan Mathews Cobb Duke Johnson Jr. Tyler Lockett Forsett which two for my flex?
