  1. [tweet] [/tweet] behind as usual?
  2. [tweet] [/tweet] moreso than the tweet, i'm laughing at the idea that matt adams expects people to recognize him from any other random big fat redneck from the Appalachians
  3. i would not attend for free but i do like watching the coverage on TV and i like the flurry of cubs news in mid january every year
  4. closest thing i have to that hot dog deal is this dive bar we hit when we're walking around and they have a deal for a hotdog and a crappy beer (michelob iirc) for like $2 it's called the stage door and it has the strongest cigarette smell i've ever encountered
  5. My favorite book right now is either Caesar's or Mirage. Wynn's is nice too. The new poker room at Encore has a sportsbook window, so I will probably be spending a lot of time there the next time I go. :-" Like I said Bally's isn't going to win any awards for being the nicest/most up to date but it gets the job done for me for the reasons I mentioned. I was out there over Thanksgiving and spent nearly my entire time in there over 4 straight days. I've never been to the Mirage's book but have been to Caesar's and the Wynn's. I like both as both are really nice, just find Caesar's can get way too crowded and the Wynn is a little bit out of the way for me typically with where I stay. The sportsbook window at the poker room could get a little dangerous, but sounds like a nice set up. I'm thinking of going out there for 2-3 days during Super Bowl week to make some bets (like Tue-Thursday, I did it last year and it was fun to get on some of the props and what not) then the next trip for sure for me will be in July during NBA Summer League. Definitely agree that they get crowded...Mirage does too. You have to get there early (or pay out the ass for a reserved seat which I won't be doing), but that seems to be the case for every book I pass by on an NFL Sunday.
  6. I find sports radio a decent way to pass the time while at work or driving as long as they aren't talking about teams I care about. Then their universally terrible arguments and opinions are more amusing than infuriating. as glowing as the score is about the cubs and everything they do (even before they got the radio deal) i don't think it would irritate you too much.

  8. I've set foot in Circus Circus once in my life and that was enough for me.

  10. yeah, the only reason i granted him even a tiny shred of credibility was that he was followed by ian happ for some reason.
  11. just a reminder that heyward looked goofy as hell at the plate even when he was launching 27 bombs in 2012 2010 too so maybe he's just awkward looking as hell no matter what
  12. he's just doing drills, so as complete laymen, we REALLY have no idea what looks good or bad at least that guy would be familiar with some of that stuff if he's taken at his word
  13. this guy who ian happ follows appears to not be a fan...not sure who he is but based on his twitter, seems to at least believe he's a swing expert [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet]
  14. it's going to be goff and bernstein [tweet] [/tweet]
  15. Frankly, I'm surprised by the default unwilllingness to discuss seriously any POV coming from a conservative, but that's probably because I'm a foreigner. Again, this isn't about conservative vs. liberal. I have never identified, generally, as a liberal. There are others (though in the minority) here like me. Trump is a dangerous monster who is empowering hateful and bigoted people. If that isn't bad enough, he has no idea what he's doing, either.
  16. The thing is, you don't have to be massively liberal to be disgusted by Trump. You just have to be of maybe average intelligence and paying slight attention.
  17. Go back to jehr's original post from before this got out of hand (as political discussions usually do nowadays); his original statement didn't use the word "equally" - that inference was added later by people who disagreed with him. I read his original post as him simply being unhappy with both (main) candidates, which sounds fair. He's strongly implying that there isn't much difference between them because they're "both bad." I don't see how it can be read any other way. And it's very wrong. Even if you're not crazy about Hillary and maybe she's a can of sardines or something else gross...Trump is a cyanide pill.

  20. not to mention the fact that choice here was between the cubs visiting trump or obama. Hillary is irrelevant.
  21. From his press secretary, on October 5th: “The president is a loyal Chicago White Sox fan." He leans strongly enough to where his press secretary felt it necesary to make that statement. I'm sure he was happy for the city as a whole, but he was always an out-and-out Sox fan. it's pretend nonsense that most politicians do, probably because he's from the south side.
  22. i am not a democrat and i think this is insane. are you paying any attention whatsoever to anything that is going on and that has gone on since the election? or are you unaware of the cabinet full of neo nazis and other assorted lunatics? this isn't even close and obama isn't a huge white sox fan (he's about as much of a sox fan as rahm is a cubs fan) lol nor is he eating crow on this, give me a break aside....is "cominskey field" worse or is this worse?
  23. i am almost positive it launched at $10 a month (for the monthly pay option) this is the closest thing i can find to evidence [tweet]https://twitter.com/adam_doster/status/692502553972588544[/tweet]
