  1. I suspect you're right. I hope you're wrong. http://p.fod4.com/upload/aff3567c9abaad4b798a350dc1e1b1a3/ojpRhqdeQxayd8Q4195l_George%20Genie.gif
  2. I'll be at the same bar I watched most of last year's playoffs at, including games 6 and 7, and game 1 this year.
  3. the real question is - do i set the DVR to record the CSN post game of the celebration or not? i did yesterday, in part because i forgot to last year. :? (I'm not watching from home) or...OR, I could just call someone and have them DVR it for me if/when we win
  4. Uhhhhhhhhh...not a big Gio Gonzalez fan? Nah Gio is a good pitcher, great at times. Hendricks is better. Plus we hit lefties well. Didnt realize Gio was on full rest, though. Thats disappointing, I normally math well when i have enough fingers to cover it. :/ weird...saturday's game feels like an eternity ago for me.
  5. lineup predictions? i'm gonna go with almora bryant rizzo contreras zobrist russell baez happ
  6. Way to call her a "bitch" in your excuse, champ. Ok ok ok ok...lets entertain this excuse for just one second. Why the hell did rando college football watching girl have this dude's phone? Why did she have the opportunity to have a conversation like this? Is that a thing people do? Let other people use their phone for extended periods of time? Is this not as weird to other people as it is to me? i mean, it happens from time to time. especially when people are drunk. but it's an obvious cop out and lie in this case.
  7. as it states, he's an anchor on NESN...so probably not?
  8. all he gets is a two day suspension? is on air talent that hard to find?
  9. For anyone wondering, the forecast out there looks to be in the low 60's and dry tonight.
  10. self medicate with alcohol to take the edge off jk you are not allowed anywhere near that park tonight
  11. Don't use Q. Hendricks and Montgomery(and I guess Lackey) can get you 6 innings. i'm operating off second hand accounts here but people have mentioned that joe already alluded to piggy backing kyle and q if necessary
  12. somehow this huge system that hit chicago isn't headed right for washington dc to make this game miserable too
  13. he's a decent pitcher. going into the last two games, i've been praying we could shut the nationals out and luck into a hit or a couple wild pitches with a runner in scoring position. going into this one i expect the offense to work multiple good at bats, hit the ball hard more than a few times and hopefully they land on the field or in the stands. he's human. those other guys aren't, usually.
  14. fwiw, gio was getting shelled in september, though that obviously didn't fully manifest itself into anything on saturday. i'm happy to face him after back to back scherzer, strasburg starts though. and we mash lefties.
  15. Regarding the offense, it's too bad you didn't watch the playoffs last year. Yes there are a couple different guys and its a different season, but the majority of the offense will be made up of guys who played on a team that got shut out 4 times in 13 LCS/WS games, including twice in a row in the NLCS, and 2 of the first 3 games of the World Series. What did the Cubs do after getting shut out 2 times in a row against the Dodgers? They scored 24 runs in the next 3 games including 5 off of Kershaw to win the series. What did they do after getting shut out in games 1 and 3 of the World series? ...Well they struggled for 2 more games and then broke out for 9 and 8 runs in the last 2 games to win the title. The Cubs are streaky but when they get out of slumps they get out of them in a hurry. I'm not saying the Cubs are a lock to win or anything but I expect the Cubs to come through until they don't. I have full faith in Kyle, and Gio honestly does not scare me at all. Sure having Scherzer in the middle innings scares me but so did Andrew Miller in Game 7 and we scored 2 off of him. it's almost as if the majority of these slumps and streaks in baseball are just a figment of our imaginations or something occasionally something mechanical gets out of whack or whatever, but usually it's just baseball. the cubs are going to get shut down by great pitching sometimes. that's why it's great pitching. i mean we're talking about guys like clayton kershaw, max scherzer, and stephen strasburg right now. for horsefeathers's sake. that doesn't mean they'll never beat it, but they're obviously going to get beat by it frequently too, especially with how often you face it in the playoffs.
  16. when is game 1? i haven't allowed myself to think that far ahead. Saturday Lester because yesterday was his "side day?" Or Lackey...not sure what else you do unless Hendricks just mows them down and never gives Joe a chance to use Q.
  17. it's funny you use this gif i wish i could just not watch tonight and assume a loss and then just consider it gravy when i wake up tomorrow to find we have another game on saturday.
  18. when is game 1? i haven't allowed myself to think that far ahead.
  19. it doesn't make any sense to be extremely confident or extremely doubtful either way. it's one baseball game (and one best of 5 series) between two very well matched and very good teams. i don't get why we try to analyze it so hard other than i guess to expend nervous energy.
  20. cleveland has blown 2 game leads in consecutive playoff series. people forget that too.
  21. the origin of the robot joke doesn't even make sense! not to mention that i'm a psychotic meatball in the playoffs and i truly believe these games reduce my life expectancy
