  1. Oh and that was deadline day, July 2004, duh.
  2. Some posts that I know that are mine are showing up as Guest. I wonder if that's got something to do with my screwed up post count.
  3. Man, it would be worth it just to get this back.
  4. But only on some posts...Quoting myself because I can't edit lol
  5. Also my post count is wayyyyyy down but I'm assuming that's because we only have the archive posts loaded up.
  6. Yeah, mine are not that. I have share/report on top right, multiquote on bottom left, and something about signature preferences on bottom right. I'm not complaining, because I'm sure stuff is still in progress, but just saying mine doesn't match that. I'm using Chrome on a Mac btw.
  7. truth be told iirc it was because of me complaining about the histrionics in the game threads (especially once the team was so damn good that the day to day didn't matter) i mean who could EVER find that annoying lol?
  8. would love to know how i got tagged with the robot monicker especially in this of all places
  9. I am just positive you are smart enough to realize that just about everyone here wouldn't want the Bears to take Stroud at #9 if he were somehow available there, regardless of their draft philosophy. Correct. Which is why I've always found the "BPA" takes irritating. People didn't really mean it, they would just say it if it happened to fit the argument for whatever player they wanted to draft or draft pick they wanted to defend in the moment. But at least now I know that *they* know they don't mean it, that you're supposed to adjust for "nuance" to whatever seems obvious regardless of what was said. I'm working on adjusting to that. BPA means don't reach for poor value in the name of need
  10. you're self aware enough to know that you do this "taking everything too literally" thing, but you don't do anything to adjust for it? or are you knowingly just doing it to do this kyle thing you do on here This is me admitting that I misunderstood and that my misunderstanding was the cause of disagreement, and that I now know my previous understanding was wrong. What more do you want here? I am just positive you are smart enough to realize that just about everyone here wouldn't want the Bears to take Stroud at #9 if he were somehow available there, regardless of their draft philosophy.
  11. You thought this was yahoo draft set to auto pick? I thought "best player available" meant "best player available," yes. you're self aware enough to know that you do this "taking everything too literally" thing, but you don't do anything to adjust for it? or are you knowingly just doing it to do this kyle thing you do on here
  12. this is where you use common sense and realize that nobody advocating for BPA wants the bears to take a QB at #9 if one is available. what it means is don't reach for someone at the pick if the value isn't there just because it's a position of greater need. in the bears case, if the available OL/DL guys are guys you don't have valued anywhere near a #9 pick but a great corner who you have with top 10 value is available, take the corner or look at trade down options. if the guys available at the pick are valued closely, then break the tie with wherever you feel you have the most need. what is nuance?
  13. Same domain but the URL structure will change a bit. The front page will be news - as it is now, but active - while the forums will be at /forums/ instead of the current /forum/. And then there will be loads of other stuff that's all new. Small but big change as far as the URL so thanks for that info. I don't think Tim would be surprised to hear that we all (or at least most) go straight to the forum url and skip the front page entirely. horsefeathers, i go straight to active topics
  14. seeing all this back and forth going with tom, it just occurred to me that conor orr called the bears a top 10 skill position group after the moore trade. i'm not sure if it got discussed at all when it happened. seems a bit high to me but I also see where it's probably a good deal better than most think. it's more than fair to want to wait to see how mooney comes back from the injury and to be skeptical of claypool after last year, though. i'm pretty comfortable saying i expect him to do well as a #3/2a (however it works out with mooney), particularly with something to prove for a contract. https://www.si.com/nfl/2023/03/14/nfl-chicago-bears-acing-pivotal-offseason
  15. while being as careful as I can not to read his posts too closely, he said mooney isn't an outside guy
  16. I sure wish I new what was on that video you can't just click into it?
  17. Whats a 11 win offense with a 1 win DL? what about a 9-10 win secondary/lbs in the mix? we're really experting now
  18. people keep saying that fields and the offense faded down the stretch after his breakout, but what also coincided with that fade was losing darnell mooney (and claypool)
  19. and what horsefeathering experts? the draft hasn't even happened yet. who is even predicting regular season wins at this point? or are you just talking about wrigley in this thread taking the pythag record from last year and adding the win that some model says the bears gained from their moves so far?
  20. https://www.si.com/nfl/chiefs/gm-report/pass-rush-vs-pass-coverage
  21. Everyone here except Derwood knows that. That's why what I took issue with was the "unless something miraculous happens" nonsense.
  22. It's not going to take a miracle to finish out of the bottom 1/3 FFS
