  1. [tweet] [/tweet] (if you're somehow oblivious to pop music entirely, those are ed sheeran lyrics) (ed sheeran has a concert scheduled at miller park that would coincide with the world series)
  2. I wonder if this just replaces the restaurant/bar that was there last season (Brickhouse Tavern iirc)...not sure where else they could put it.
  3. My heart sank
  4. I mean, there's a lot more of them in Illinois. This is kind of a dumb point that I've been seeing made on Twitter, too. It's not going to work to any degree that really matters (their park will still appear flooded with opposing fans to a comical degree), regardless, because this is only for a presale and because there's still a secondary market, but this ploy will probably result in some amount of Brewer fans going that otherwise wouldn't have, both in the attention it's bringing and the fact that they're preemptively selling to WI only residents. The fact that there are still Cubs fans in WI doesn't change the fact that they've eliminated most of them from being eligible to pre-buy. I honestly think there’s probably just as many Cubs fans as Brewer fans in Wisconsin, or at least ones in the pool that actually go and buy tickets for games. Just in my city alone my friend/family group is split if not leaning Cubs fans and around town I will see just as much Cubs gear as Brewer gear. Also there are a ton of Cubs fans south and southwest of Milwaukee. There are still a ton more in Illinois. And it's not just people in Lake County and northern Cook making the drive up there.

  7. The Cavs sure are doing lots of things.
  8. Imagine the Cubs having to do something like this. It's going to be interesting/funny to see the park packed with Cubs fans despite this effort. [tweet] [/tweet]
  9. Posting this only because I didn't realize this was the story behind the McGinnis embarrassment (also didn't know he had lined up Martz as his OC) http://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/bears/colts-losing-josh-mcdaniels-replay-bears-99-saga-dave-mcginnis-not-exactly
  10. i definitely don't. but that's ok.
  11. I regret nothing. I’d trade Jorge Soler 2.0 for Jon Lester 2.0 (at a discounted, controlled rate) every time I agree, I did not and do not regret the Quintana deal at all. The point was the White Sox made an absolutely horrific deal and they got James Shields who was getting paid 20M a year on top of it. Why don't I just point out that we have 3+ years of Jose Quintana, instead?
  12. where is our above average defense in CF coming from? (obviously agree with the gist of the post) Didn’t Happ actually grade out decently there last year (better than Almora, iirc)? he did, but i'm not buying into him as a plus CF.
  13. Well yeah, Schwarber is going to be so bad in the least important defensive position that he's going to bring down the above average defense we have at C, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, CF, and RF. That's just horsefeathering science. where is our above average defense in CF coming from? (obviously agree with the gist of the post)
  14. this dude is finally gonna get me to turn off sigs
  15. Holy crap this has got to be at least the fourth time for this one. Thatsthejoke.jpg
  16. PECOTA has the Cubs at 89 right now...they have the Dodgers at 99 (Brewers and Cardinals at 83 and 84, respectively). [tweet] [/tweet] Oher than LA, only the Cubs and Nats in the NL at 89 or better, while the AL has the Astros at 99, Indians at 97, and Yankees (?!) at 96. Seems pretty wonky.
  17. who is ervin santana would be a really bad jeopardy category for a lot of reasons over or under?
  18. i made fun of him once and got the insta block Are you using a 2nd account to read him? i just open a quick incognito tab when i see his tweets being made fun of somewhere (also, when the tweets are embedded it doesn't block me from seeing it) sidenote - incognito mode works for tribune articles too
