  1. Just random articles that focus on raw SBs allowed without context Why are you reading crap content
  2. i was lucky enough to not care about the cubs until about 1995, so he was just some dorky horsefeathers who we could never ever beat on the braves by then (even though i was aware of him having been on the cubs). i just remember really hating him.
  3. For context Darvish has allowed 43 SB in 431 innings since 2014 (so about every 10 innings) Jon Lester has allowed 107 SB in about 807 innings since 2014 (every 7.5 innings) Arrieta has allowed 93 SB in about 750 innings since 2014 (every 8.1 innings) Hendricks has allowed 43 in 590 innings since 2014 (every 13 innings) Quintana has allowed 36 in about 1000 innings in that same span (every 27 innings - much better, perhaps like you'd expect from a lefty who is quick to the plate and can actually throw to first) Obviously, none of that corrects for who is behind the plate, but the raw total doesn't seem all that alarming compared to what we've seen.
  4. schwarber's gonna end up our brian giles to the 90s indians if we trade him
  5. looks like KB is in the house [tweet] [/tweet]
  6. i could see sending out assets to salary dump heyward and/or zobrist (assuming no big bouncebacks from either)
  7. 4-5ish my point was that our best players would still have seasons that we'd expect out of them and he'd still beat them out
  8. I'm well past the point of being surprised if any pitcher puts up a bad year. yeah, i mean, just look at our staff in the first half of last year
  9. Lester wouldn't shock me that much at this point. In completely arbitrary and made up probabilities, i'd have him like 1/3 being bad, 1/3 being meh/good enough, and 1/3 being very good. Darvish and Q would shock me, yeah, depending on how bad we're talking.
  10. Did you add the Hendricks option? I didn't notice it the first time. I thought it was a bit heavy on upside surprises. the thing is almost nobody except rizzo and bryant would absolutely shock me if they had really bad years.
  11. yeah that occurred to me after this list. even i've given up hope of him putting up much more than a 2 win type of season.
  12. the warriors didnt trade for durant
  13. analysis here https://www.cubsinsider.com/2018/02/15/jason-heywards-new-old-swing-display-bp-video-mesa/
  14. Did you add the Hendricks option? I didn't notice it the first time. I thought it was a bit heavy on upside surprises. i did.
  15. I love this.
  16. Mannnnnnn, between Sahadev and Mooney, the Athletic's Cubs coverage is in a great great place. Worth the price alone (not to mention the Bears content too...Bulls coverage seems MEH). And I was a big anti-Athletic guy
  17. oh god i'm an idiot i edited the poll and now everyone's votes are gone
  18. i wanted to put up something like Schwarber becomes a .950 OPS monster but i forgot
  19. how is this even a thought a person has? and why does it seem like 95% of baseball fans online think that there's something inherently better about players who were drafted/signed IFA and developed compared to guys acquired via trade or free agency these people are literally like "yeah, they're really good and all but they can't develop pitching so yeah and stuff"
  20. except jose contreras and arod remember those, theo...remember them.
  21. we're seriously going to be the horsefeathering beatles of baseball
  22. holy crap i will have whatever this guy is having http://forum.brewerfan.net/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=36382&start=140
