  1. Garbage. I don't love Goff (mainly because of how little he seems to know/care about baseball) but I liked him...McNeil should be stuck selling cars in NW Indiana.
  2. It's pretty crazy that within like 2 months of taking the job, Theo made a trade that will eclipse any from Hendry's tenure, including a few that were really horsefeathering good.
  3. Personally swatting down whatever that little thing was that the Pirates had going on for a couple of years. This will be the enduring Arrieta memory for me. First playoff appearance of the Theo era, franchise on a 9 game playoff losing streak, wild card winner-take-all game on the road. He crushed their souls so badly they threw at him just to try and get him off his rhythm. Arrieta responded by stealing second base, and then finishing the last 3 innings of the complete game shutout. He was a horsefeathering bad ass and I'll always love him.
  4. he felt completely on the verge of being andy pratt most of the time. his 2016-17 self reminded me of marmol when he was still good but not nearly as dominant anymore bc teams just stopped swinging
  5. It started getting to me last year. Welcome to the club. Honestly, it probably started in the 2016 postseason for me. The moment he brought Chapman in during game 6, I started doubting whether I wanted him here. In these quotes we have one normal guy making a joke and two nut jobs who actually question whether they want Joe Maddon managing the Cubs.
  6. Stone is a ball buster and a half tho
  7. hendricks looks good

    NFL Offseason

    Not really, no
  9. There are so many damn Len and JD games that I've never understood this complaint when we get a national broadcast. I like changes of pace, even crappy ones.
  10. unless this is like thursday night football, where they only got trash matchups (which i doubt, given how many baseball games there are available to choose quality matchups from), we're absolutely going to have cubs games on this thing
  11. Definitely doesn't mean anything but I wonder what he'll end up going for, coming off an Achilles
  12. did anyone else lose the ability to see the likes on a post by hovering over?
  13. I don't know if I could get past how gross that looks
  14. jokes are funny when they are like actually based on true things
  15. ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm what Well, I disagree. I'm not always disappointed when the Cubs get eliminated. Sometimes they aren't the best team and the other team deserves to move on. The Cubs were a pretty flawed team last year and I think the Dodgers were the better team. I'm talking about scenarios and not necessarily how the MLB playoffs work in general. Yes, I know they are a crapshoot, and that luck and SSS plays a huge part in the playoffs. If you weren't disappointed when the Cubs were 4 (well, ultimately 3) wins away from another world series berth and failed to advance, that also makes you a horsefeathering weirdo.
  16. I'm blind
  17. This is a great read... [tweet]https://twitter.com/haralabob/status/971879589361336321[/tweet]
  18. Someone got in to Joe’s stash last night the good horsefeathers is at KB's
  19. That's dumb and that's not how the MLB playoffs work. And obviously anybody here is going to be disappointed if the Cubs are eliminated. Well, I disagree. 20. You can be disappointed in the outcome, but that doesn't classify the team as a disappointment. Those are entirely unfair and unrealistic expectations. It's ok to have them as a fan, but they don't define the team.
  21. Not to sound like a dick, but right now if the Cubs reach the League Championship Series and face anyone besides the Dodgers and bow out I'll be disappointed. If we make it there and face like the Diamondbacks we should advance to the World Series, and I'd be damn disappointed if we didn't... That's dumb and that's not how the MLB playoffs work. And obviously anybody here is going to be disappointed if the Cubs are eliminated.
  22. looked great. would be awesome if hickey could help him figure something out maybe.
  23. jd with the midseason call of a schwarbomb
