  1. Went to look up tickets to that first Cubs/Brewers series in Milwaukee and this came up as my section...lol (yes i know it stands for field infield box)
  2. They have for those and bleachers. The new best value is the front of 200 that's actually where our seats are. i still miss the upper deck IF though.

  4. it almost looks like theo is taking the throws at first...
  5. one of the best values and one of my favorite places to sit = front of upper deck (400) infield
  6. When I think of Valbuena, the first thing that still comes to my mind is that breakout series he had against the Cubs in 2009 as a member of the Indians (in a series the Cubs swept despite him) the first thing that comes to mind for me are gloriously bat flipped singles
  7. You won't believe who we traded him for! My memory for trades and transactions is basically non-existent. For all of the trivial, useless stuff that occupies my brain, who got traded for who and when is not part of it lol guys he really doesn't know this is so derwood
  8. You won't believe who we traded him for!

  10. https://www.mlb.com/news/chicago-cubs-extend-netting-at-wrigley-field/c-266398882 Some behind the scenes photos of what's going on in the article along with some new info. More at the link Should be interesting to see if the camera angles look noticeably different with the new camera well locations. I'm sure it'll be mentioned more than once in the game threads.
  11. Some good pics from Boys of Spring here - http://boysofspring.com/yu-got-that-right/
  12. people i know who interact with him say he's a bag. matt spiegel has alluded to it too in conversations on the score. that said, it's one thing for athletes to be a jerk to grown ass men who pester them...he's a well liked teammate and he's great with kids. that's all that actually matters.
  13. Zero. I was pretty young though. The first Cubs acquisition I remember being excited over was Delino Deshields in 2001 (lol wtf- I think i just thought it was a cool name). Anyways Nomo went on to average almost 3 war/yr over the next 5 years, so lol cobs. first acquisition i was excited about was todd zeile lol. my brother told me he was good. man i was SUPER excited about those randy johnson rumors in 98. and mike piazza. what a shitty GM lynch was. that era could've been crazy different. a few months later we trade noel and garland anyway for trash. i think there were also sheffield rumors in 96 for a bit. and bobby bonilla was rumored all the time. oh and idk if anyone is here from the old AOL boards in the 90s, but i remember falling for some insane barry bonds rumor from a message board insider that involved chad meyers, robin jennings, orie, kieschnick or some other trash like that...it had to be 96 or 97
  14. Not at all. he was with us in spring training in 99. i was super excited. then we released him bc he didn't want to stay at AAA. http://articles.chicagotribune.com/1999-04-24/sports/9904240154_1_nomo-agent-general-manager-ed-lynch-hideo-nomo
  15. do you guys remember when we had hideo nomo
  16. win total bets are out and the cubs are set at 94.5 (by whoever they're citing on this site) https://www.oddsshark.com/mlb/mlb-season-win-totals
  17. Forgot about Davenport Projections... http://claydavenport.com/projections/PROJHOME.shtml NL Cent Won Lost Runs Runs A CHC 95 67 804 673 MIL 87 75 812 749 STL 86 76 754 711 PIT 75 87 691 752 CIN 73 89 729 815 moved it to keep it from getting lost at the bottom of the page
  18. just stumbled across this...holy crap that bat (the title is dumb - but i think he's like a 17 or 18 year old kid there)
  19. rumors of javy putting on baby weight have been great exaggerations http://www.trbimg.com/img-5a85e910/turbine/chi-ct-ct-cubs-spring-training-0215-51-ct0063680831-20180215/1550/1550x872
  20. That's not a handstand. i said the same anyway, in case anyone missed it, the point is the album. if you get paywall blocked, try the incognito window trick.
  21. more decent spring training pics [tweet] [/tweet]
  22. Grimm may be in a battle with Eddie Butler for the last spot in the pen. If Maples throws strikes all spring, he may beat the both. Alvarez and Simmons also have a reasonable shot at that last spot in the pen. yeah i was gonna say i could see maples taking grimm's spot away
