Derosa needs to just pretend that every opponent is the Reds. -
I wouldn't mind. The only reason I still have it is because it automatically renews itself. I don't put money in the account that it draws out of, and they haven't charged it yet (though I did put enough money in it to cover it if they do decide to pull it out some day). So, I think I'm getting it for free. I've had other people use the account before, just never at the same time to listen to the same game.

I always wondered if maybe Baker's distaste for the walk was stemmed from watching teams walk Barry Bonds and then the crappy hitters behind him not being able to drive him in. Random thought, sorry. Good article, though. (for the most part, a couple things I disagree with) -

That post makes a hardcorecubsfan fan post look like a Noam Chomsky essay. It reads like one of those fourth grade Grammar class problems where you have to fix the paragraph. Stop being so racist. When you have a manager that preaches to swing at the first pitch and not to take walks, and your team (in that series) swings at the first pitch and doesn't draw any walks, it's not far fetched to blame the manager for it.

Most people here DID like Dusty when he was hired. I remember a gamethread on here from spring training in 2003 where he was praised for doing something as simple as arguing a call in spring training. I was on his bandwagon, too. But that changed when all of us saw him in action. The fact that we liked him before we even really knew him means next to nothing. I also don't think he deserves any praise for changing the "lovable losers" thing, either, considering there was never anything remotely lovable about losing.

We're trading for one of these guys? Are we assuming that the same package of players will be able to net either guy? Because the older guy would probably be much easier to trade for than the younger one. I'll just assume that I'd be giving up the same players for either guy, and I'd definitely go with the better (the younger one, in this case) player. -
I look forward to the booing of Dusty. I dread his claims of racism in the post game interview.

Haha, I did that earlier. I added something about his wife getting punk'd and something about how he took his anger out on his wife after the media incident. Looks like they've been deleted though...everything is back to normal.

I have a hard time picturing Backe seriously injuring Pujols. (unless Pujols falls on the way to the mound and breaks his hip)
