Derrek Lee has been awful since last April. How is it too early? Would a 3 run home run by him tomorrow suddenly make him good again? Except that he wasn't awful last season. An .832 OPS from your first baseman isn't great, but it certainly is not awful, especially when he's so good defensively. He grounded into double plays a lot last year. Boo hoo.

I'd almost prefer not to get Peavy so that we can afford to re-sign Harden at the end this season, assuming Harden stays healthy all year, which isn't a great assumption. -
Haha, I got home from work and checked the score of the game, read the story, and was like..."Man, I bet they're overreacting so hardcore on NSBB right now." Sometimes it isn't even fun to be right, this is kinda ridiculous. Derrek Lee is a 3 run homerun away from being tied for the team lead in RBI. Its way too early for these dumbass posts.

I'll drive after one or two beers. The law is .08, and one or two doesn't put you over .08, so the people who are arguing that you're endangering lives don't particularly know what they're talking about. Any more than one or two and I don't drive unless I wait long enough for any impairment to go away. I have, however, been the passenger of a drunk driver many times. Two of them got DUIs, one blew .154 like 3 hours after they stopped drinking. The other blew barely over the limit, .10something. -
Its too bad that Gallardo got hurt last year, Sheets got hurt in September, and Yost rode CC too hard. A healthy and fresh rotation of Sabathia, Sheets, and Gallardo really could have been a force last October. And since the Cubs got bitch slapped out of the first round anyway, it would have been fun to watch. I don't think you can call them irrelevant after 3 games, though. They still have a capable team.

Yeah, but if they do I'm pretty sure that it'd come from winning the Central as about an 85-89 win team. No way anybody but the Red Sox, Rays, or Yankees win the wild card. -

That idiot in the middle thinks the Royals are going to take the wild card.... That'd make the Royals about a 96 win team this year.........and the White Sox 97 win team at least. And it'd mean the Rays and Yankees both won less than 95. Moran. -

Evidently the Cubs were "basically a .500 team" last year without Soriano, and him being there made us jump from a .500 team to a 97 win team.

So lets say that Patton shows enough promise during the season that we definitely want to keep him around, but not enough so that we trust him in a playoff game in 09. Would we be able to not include him on our playoff roster?
