  1. I can't get to the point where it tells me where I am in line. edit- n/m, I forgot to enable javascript
  2. I just had that Final 4 in a money pool I entered.
  3. Yeah, I don't see it. While UCLA is very likely to go deep in the tournament (elite eight) much more may be pushing it. They simply don't have much of an answer for an athletic frontline which they are bound to see at some point. I've thought all year UCLA was to be a predictable tournament team -- avoid upsets, advance far, then lose to first really talented team (especially one with athletic bigs) they play. On the other hand, there's what, 2 athletic frontlines on that side of the bracket? Kansas and Florida, and that's about it. Not quite the UNC, Texas, OSU, aTm, Georgetown, Memphis half of the bracket in that aspect.
  4. I have a hard time seeing them getting past MSU without McNeal, nevermind UNC in Winston-Salem. My heart said MSU, but my head told me I overrated the Big 10 enough in the rest of my picks, so MSU had to lose. They also hinge way too much on one player for me to like taking them more than a game. I wasn't saying that MSU would take down UNC(although being biased I would be awfully tempted if it weren't a virtual home game), but let's have Big Ten Wonk say it best.
  5. I have a hard time seeing them getting past MSU without McNeal, nevermind UNC in Winston-Salem.
  6. I don't remember them very well, but I was all over Montana last year.
  7. I can see Texas getting to the second weekend, but they don't get past UNC/MSU/Marquette.
  8. My goodness, Pena is an offensive abomination. Last year was his best year as a pro, and it was a .282/.312/.359/.671 as a 25 year old in AAA. What about Tim's old favorite Omar Infante? He's still in a bench role and could handle SS if needed, right?
  9. I don't know everything about the injury, but I wouldn't change it unless you think they'll lose in the first weekend. Collison is already probable for the first round game, and he'll probably get limited playing time if/when they blow out Weber State. Then, barring him reaggravating it in the second round he'll have a week to recover it before the sweet sixteen.
  10. I think back problems.
  11. It'd be really great if Detroit would lose a game on their west coast swing. Heck, two would be just super.
  12. Congrats to Niagara on beating Kansas.
  13. Incorrect. He was 12-2 in 1994. Since that was the strike-shortened year, it would definitely have to be considered comparable. He certainly would have won more games had it been a full season. He had a 1.4+ WHIP and an ERA+ of "only" 122. Prior's 1.1 WHIP and 175 ERA+ blow him out of the water.
  14. Oh, right, the information gained from nine or so innings that he has thrown against a collection of minor leaguers, with some major leaguers tossed in. Is it the 1.44 WHIP that excites you? San Diego is in luck, I mean, Termell Sledge is now a HR hitter. It's not who he's facing. It's that he's been able to consistantly throw the ground balls. He's been able get groundballs for exactly 9 whole innings against players, many of whom will not be in the majors this year. Tell me you can tell the difference. He's locating his sinker well, who he's facing has no bearing on his mechanics, or his location. Tell me you can tell the difference. I'm not a pitcher, but I bet if I was facing some little leaguers I could induce some weakly hit ground balls. On the other hand, I bet my ability would be more exposed against college hitters, they'd rough me up.
  15. Is Owings just pitching for the D-Backs, or is he playing in the field too?
  16. There's really no one in the Midwest that I want to put in the Final 4. I really didn't want to pick anyone in the sweet 16 matchups either, I was half tempted to have Old Dominion pull off this year's George Mason.
  17. I filled one in pretty quick last night, and that was the final I had too. Big problem for me is that Georgetown has crazy matchups to get there. Getting through Washington State, UNC, and aTm is not an easy task.
  18. Yes, but can he read? What's the indication with early entrance for Rush and Wright? Is Wright for sure gone? Is Rush staying another year?
  19. Mizzou missed the NIT. :( I'm biased, but it's frustrating to see Mizzou miss it while all of NC State, Providence, Georgia, DePaul, Fresno St, San Diego St, and West Virginia got in. Can't take everyone I guess.
  20. I quickly went through a bracket in the yahoo pool(I hate you, biology exam) and had them losing in the National Championship. When I get the chance I'm going to have to look at their guardplay though.
  21. I get Carolina, Georgetown, and Texas, but who is the 4th? No way is Washinton State one of the top 10 teams. I had them #7 when we were ranking the tourney teams.
  22. Seriously, the East is ridiculous. I think they have 4 of the top 10 teams in the country right now.
  23. I just thought it was funny because it was the first thing he had to say in the show, it was obviously a point(Illinois not deserving to be in) that he decided to talk about beforehand, then he muffs it up in the first sentence(adding to the effect is that he's trying to show how Illinois doesn't deserve respect, then can't say something correctly about them).
  24. Wright State won their conference tournament.
