  1. Cormier, just stop throwing Soriano pitches that are anywhere near the plate. There's no one on, just give 4 random fans a prize with some errant floaters.
  2. 53 pitches through 3 for Marshall. Need a quick inning out of him to have a chance of going 7.
  3. hahaha, Jones looked like a little leaguer who had never seen a curveball before
  4. It's like the TBS broadcast is seeing how many inaccuracies they can put in one telecast. The Tigers are not leading the division, they haven't in quite a while.
  5. If Jones actually plays the ball it's 1st and 2nd with no runs even with the error. Get Renteria to roll over and GIDP plz
  6. You seriously waited for that to roll all the way to you Jones? Get off my television.
  7. Didn't Kerry Wood make an All-Star team? 2003 Prior made it that year too.
  8. I was never really a Chip Caray hater when he announced for the Cubs, but I'm going to reach through my TV set and choke him with the straw of his own Cherry Limeade if he doesn't stop mentioning tater tots.
  9. Chip you are dumb, Barrett is going to catch Z's next start and Barrett is officially having a down year offensively
  10. Pie walks on strike 3, I guess it's fitting after he reached base on strike 3. edit- felix = fast
  11. Soriano now 4 for 5 with 3 HR and a triple against Cormier.
  12. Those two pitches were the same, why was one called a ball
  13. Anything but a double play. I will concede a terrible AB as long as you don't make 2 outs Jones.
  14. Milb.com says July 3, whatever, the point remains. And yes, you've got us figured out. We pore through all the information we can get on present and future minor leaguers just so we can immediately hate them once they get to Chicago. Please stop stereotyping.
  15. What did they do? Main talking points: Cubs spent a lot of money But they still can't win(cue Cub blooper reel) Braves pushed them to desperation(cue Piniella and Z/Barrett clips along with Braves beating Cubs) Now the Cubs travel south to face a Braves team who can go off "AT ANY TIME" Now, woo Soriano, yay Pie
  16. My boy DeJesus got taken in the 16th round! By the Cardinals. :(
  17. Lansford's been awful with the bat????? He is hitting .287 which is higher than any other player on our roster who was here on Opening Day. He is 2nd on the team in RBI, 1st in doubles, doesnt strikeout much (20 in 180 AB) and is easily the one guy on this team I would want up in a clutch situation. And he is the best defensive 3rd baseman I have seen in the MWL. .694 OPS, 50th in the league. 20/11 K/BB. Average doesn't mean much. I'll stay out of the OPS vs. Avg debate this season. All I'm saying is if you were to watch this team every day you would know that the 2 players who stand out head and shoulder above are Josh and Castillo. Standing out above the crap on that roster doesn't mean much to me, no offense. A .694 ops is bad, and the fact that he is an advanced, 23 year old, college draftee just makes it worse. HE IS NOT 23...cant anyone here add, or subtract??? I said "near 23", he'll be 23 in less than a month. For all intents and purposes, he should be considered a 23 year old.
  18. Collegiate splits for Thomas, Barney, and Guyer. Of note: Thomas was actually better away from home(.410/.505/.821) than in his home park(.442.547/.705), he has no discernable L/R split. Barney is not very good against RHP(.279/.354/.390), but like Thomas he was better on the road(.339/.417/.505) than home(.278/.354/.417). Guyer has no discernible R/L split, and seems to be a beneficiary of his home park(.368/.483/.632 at home, .349/.378/.535 on the road).
  19. Lansford's been awful with the bat????? Is that a joke or sarcastic comment? He is hitting .287 which is higher than any other player on our roster who was here on Opening Day. He is 2nd on the team in RBI, 1st in doubles, doesnt strikeout much (20 in 180 AB) and is easily the one guy on this team I would want up in a clutch situation. And he is the best defensive 3rd baseman I have seen in the MWL. He's hitting for a good enough average, but there's no walks or XBH to go with it. A sub .700 OPS isn't going to cut it for a near 23 year old 3B at Low A.
  20. Decent IsoD and good IsoP, .285/.350/.498 How many catchers is that now? Gotta be approaching 5. Donaldson, Day, Clark, one more who I can't remember his name at least.
  21. NSBB: picking player X would be absurd, especially if player Y and Z are available. Bud Selig: Oakland A's select player X. NSBB: *crickets* pause..... NSBB: how could the Cubs pass on players Y and Z. they're so stupid. pause.... NSBB: Billy Beane is such a genius. Or you could have checked the reaction in the draft thread. ... Why should he do that when ignoring the facts so clearly supports his agenda much better? lol at "his agenda." unfortunately the claim you guys are making just isn't supported by what actually happened in said thread. viewtopic.php?t=41280&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=420 just look at all that scathing criticism. What? No one said anything, like the vast majority of the picks made. I'm sure there were lots of picks that were glossed over that people would've screamed bloody murder about if the Cubs had not made. Where's the "Beane is a genius" that you said would be there?
