    Zobrist in 2016 Bases empty: .288 AVG, .396 OBP Men on: .253 AVG, .375 OBP Schwarber 2015 bases empty: .223 AVG, .347 OBP 2015 men on: .270 AVG, .364 OBP 2017 bases empty: .165 AVG, .270 OBP 2017 men on: .222 AVG, .373 OBP Schwarber has some progression coming his way regardless, but shifts aren't just a button you press with the bases empty that affect everyone equally. Even without looking up the numbers it's clear that Zobrist uses the whole field more than Schwarber(on top of being a switch hitter) and should be less susceptible to shifts.

    Isn't Willson supposed to be a good framer? He hasn't been doing Jake many favors, stabbing at a lot of balls. I also kinda feel his exaggerated movements on blocking balls in the dirt throws Jake off his rhythm by making it seem like those pitches are mini crises that are being averted. His framing was a bit above average last year, slightly worse this year thus far. That I can understand will come around(and Jake is a difficult pitcher to frame), but the pitch blocking and stuff like hanging on to tipped pitches are hurting him a lot. That's fine when he's a young catcher hitting like Posey, but his double just bumped him over a .700 OPS to start this season so you really want to see progress on either end.

    .345/.441/.655 in 34 PA Alzolay with a very nice outing too(although he might throw the 7th): 6 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 8/1 K/BB, HR FIP-wise he's been pretty consistent year over year, but nice to see his ERA on the right side of that mark compared to last year.

    Oh, I see that the idea is that the Cubs wanted an off day for their exhausted bullpen. The same bullpen where in the last 2 days(now 3), Davis and Edwards didn't pitch, and Strop, Rondon, and Uehara each pitched 1 inning. And Floro was called up for long relief. Yes, quite brilliant of the Cubs indeed.

    The last 24 hours for the Cardinals: - Oh blows a save, and they lose 6-5 at home to the Giants - Robert chooses the White Sox over the Cards who made a similar $$ offer - Adams finally gets traded/given away 9 months after it's clear he doesn't fit on the roster - Martinez goes 9 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 1 BB and a no-decision because the Cards don't score either and lose 3-1 in 13 innings, their 4th straight loss

    Prior to last night, Clifton's last 3 starts were 17 K in 17.2 IP. There's no 9 K/6 IP outing, but he had moved that direction after exceeding 4 K's once in his first 4 starts.
