  1. Dusty is terrified to use Madson because then he'd have to use Doolittle or someone bad in the 9th and it should cost him the game if there's any justice in the world
  2. Strop to get through Taylor or Turner is the right call here. Let him feast on the righties and Wieters.
  3. did Turner touch the base? He needed to with his right foot and he lifted it to follow through the throw awful quick
  4. Last time Scherzer pitched in Wrigley, Zobrist took him deep. Twice. That is not a great reason to start him(La Stella also took him deep that day) and it was 18 months ago, but it's something to cling to I guess.
  5. Edwards had a sub-.600 OPS against on 0 days rest, only threw 11 pitches yesterday, and had 5 days rest prior to last night. I don't think that really played a part or is a huge concern.
  6. Costa Rica scored in the 95th minute (!) to tie Honduras, so Honduras and Panama are on 10 points with the US at 12. CR and Mexico both now have nothing to play for so might not be able to count on them for much, but thankfully T&T is 1-3 at home and we've already beaten them 2-0. I'd sure take one of those 8th minute goals like yesterday though.
  7. I assume it would get moved back if the AL series end in sweeps. Boston is scheduled for 1 p.m. Eastern so I don't know if they would move that back to 7 p.m. ET (Yankees start time) if the Indians win tomorrow or if they'd just move each game back 3 hours. If both AL series sweep, then it gets moved back to 5. If either the Yankees or Red Sox win, then the start time stays the same.
  8. I'm not freaking out or anything but the Cubs have had a lot more than 1 bad inning. they have 10 hits in two games. The Nationals have 8, it's been a pitcher's zone, that's why there's been such smooth sailing on the mound. Losing a Gio start would be a bummer, but there's no harbingers of doom to take from this.
  9. One inning goes poorly in 2 games and people are popping up out of the woodwork to worry about how this is the beginning of the end. For the life of me I cannot understand that mindset
  10. and when I say heavy on lefties, they are literally all lefties
  11. Happ is worse against LHP and the bench is heavy on lefties, but yeah, a little.
