  1. You could tell me the Mets medical staff tried treating an arm injury with leeches and I wouldn't bat an eye.
  2. Schweinsteiger and McCarty play central midfield and are both quite good. Schweinsteiger because he used to be one of the better players in the world and is now on the downside of his career, and McCarty is a fringe national team player. Their target forward Nikolic is a good goal scorer. I'm not sure if any of their new additions are doing anything noteworthy, or if any of the above guys are dealing with injury. Atlanta has a more interesting roster. Their attack with Almiron, Martinez, and Nagbe is very, very good, and they're just now getting to incorporate their big signing from the offseason (Ezequiel Barco) too. Those four as a unit are as good as it gets in MLS.
  3. disagree. one time he posted a bunch of pictures on twitter of how he was riding a trolley in san francisco and it broke down or something. i am extremely interested in a series of short films in which jesse is like the cooler of cubs road city tourist traps and gets stuck inside the statue of liberty or has the space needle fall on him or whatever. definitely no baseball opinions though. Okay, I will compromise on the point that Jesse Rogers can be the Cubs’ real life version of Flat Stanley.
  4. Rogers has one purpose in his job, to surface quotes and the occasional scoop/rumor. I have less than zero interest in any opinions or analysis he can conjure up.
  5. Counterpoint: He sucks and is bad. no we all agree Jesse Rogers is terrible
  6. I would like to file a complaint against whoever broke Montgomery
  7. Underwood got rocked? Whoever could have seen this coming
  8. 100% chance that Trevor Bauer will one day tweet an InfoWars link with the caption “really makes u think”
  9. Addison you can help with this by not trying to make that play goofy footed like a skateboarder
  10. “We’ve replaced the Cubs infield with a beer league softball team, let’s see who notices first”
  11. “His name literally means ‘out of wine’” is a an all-timer JDism
  12. Why plant and throw when you can shuffle and throw off balance and miss your target by 5 feet?
  13. ON THAT NOTE [tweet] [/tweet]
  14. To get rid of all of Heywards deal or you just don't want to go down that particular road? Because I think it would take a lot to get any team to take 5/106 off our books, if we DID go down that route. Of which, it'd be to free up OF AB's obviously. Again, I'm not advocating that as the easiest option. I think trading Heyward being the best option is very unlikely. Heyward in an OF that has Schwarber, Almora, and Harper is a perfect fit, and all the other position players have at least some IF flexibility if they're even productive(Happ) or on the roster(Zobrist).
  15. There’s still a lot of time for injuries or underperformance to happen, but right now you don’t really need to worry about having money for any other additions. The rotation is spoken for, with Smyly, Montgomery, and Azolay being depth options. Wilson is the only reliever leaving, and Smyly needs a roster spot plus Maples and maybe another downstream arm are optionable pen possibilities. If you absolutely need to free up money, selling off Zobrist is the easiest option, assuming that Happ is a functioning major leaguer and they don’t mind him getting some infield time(La Stella and/or Bote being IF reserves is also a possibility). You don’t have to get rid of Heyward and you definitely don’t need to attach a player as valuable as Happ to him to make room for Harper.
  16. Bailey Clark promoted to Myrtle Beach.
  17. Just cackled at the ump finally calling that low strike when Perez squared around. What an incompetent vindictive goon
  18. something something there’s always errors in the brewer stand something something
