    LOL. He's .263/.268/.288. That's Neifi-esque. Actually, it's worse. Last year, Neifi was .274/.298/.383 and for his career, he's .269/.299/.378. It's one thing to argue that May is only twenty games, the sample size isn't very big, and that Cedeno has a strong enough minor league track record to be allowed to play through. It's another thing entirely to post an entirely misleading stat, implying that Ronnie's performance in May has somehow been acceptable. It hasn't. He's been utterly dreadful. It implies that everyone has been near to on par with him, not that it's acceptable.

    where would thome or glaus play on the cubs? prior to 06, lee was one of the most durable guys in the game. you might have something w/ vasquez. who did the sox give up to get him? El Duque, Luis Vizcaino, and Chris Young(who is comparable to Pie).

    Oh so close for Convey. I'm not much for analyzing players and style, but it really seemed that we played too many aerial balls that could've been put on the ground to play faster and make it easier on those receiving them.

At one time, I think he was tabbed for a top 5 pick. Had some injury problems, but he's been plenty good in the 50 or so innings he's been out there. BA had him going near our pick in the first round.

    The Rangers picked up ~$50 million, depending on what part of his salary that applied to, and how much the Yanks would be willing to pick up of the remainder, it should be discussed. Although I'd remain on the sideline if it's the full contract (throw Pierre, Jones, Neifi, Rusch, Hendry and Baker together and I might talk). To my knowledge, the Yankees are paying: 2006- 19 mil 2007- 20 mil 2008- 19 mil 2009- 20 mil 2010- 21 mil

    I have a good feeling about Wood tonight. He's facing a lineup full of young and (for the most part) poor hitters, and he has a spacious ballpark if he makes a flyball mistake. Keep throwing strikes like last time and I think we'll see a real strong outing from Wood.
