  1. The way I understand it, there are no real outcomes in the minor league games. They are all inter-squad games, and the games are all controlled to create certain situations for the players.
  2. I think that they're starting to get the pitchers on track for the regular season.
  3. He actually came back fairly well in 1969 after his first knee injury, but when he was injured again in 1970 he wasn't able to come back at any level of effectiveness (he played in two games each in 1970 and 1971, with less than 100 yards total and less than 3 yards per carry each year). It would have been nice to see what he could have been if only he played 10 or 20 years or so later, with substantial improvements in knee surgery. Randy Hundley is another player who was never the same after injuries. How about Terrell Davis? MVP, Super Bowl MVP, 2000 yard season...ACL tear...never came close agina, retired 3 years later. Steve Emtman is also fitting IMO, though he never really established himself as a solid pro player. He was highly coveted coming out of college, and showed flashes of talent before injuries washed him out of the league.
  4. Lets trade Pagan to Baltimore for CPat. They seem to be our only trade partners here recently anyway.
  5. No, they just missed snack time.
  6. So you're the reason that I throw my money away each week, eh?
  7. MiLB's system report at the beginning of March said he was being moved slowly and is being slated to start for Sandberg in Peoria.
  8. There's guys in the NBA who have been around forever for no apparent reason. The NFL has them too. In most cases they're called special teamers, but they play other positions as well.
  9. I've seen AP pics of him with the big league team (before the Texas Rangers game, I think) so he's definitely in Arizona. Maybe he was with the big leaguers when you were at the minor league camp? How old is Harkey these days? He turned 40 back in October.
  10. He's a special teams stud, but is one dimensional as a player. He's good against the run, but he can't cover, and he can't rush the passer either. He's a good backup ILB/special teamer, but that's about it. Eh, sounds ok. No idea why we're going to pay him $4 mil and didn't have interest in similar dollar amounts for Stallworth, Bennett and Travis Henry, though. Oh, don't worry. You guys aren't the only team not to do anything in FA :x You've at least been rumored with a player or two even slightly haven't you? The only news I hear out of the Colts camp is who's leaving-the only thing I've heard is that Chris Brown wants to come to the Colts-that doesn't mean that the Colts have any interest or any Colts fans have any interest either. It could be possible that the Colts biggest free agent move of the entire offseason is signing Rob Morris-that's almost comical to think that's the biggest. It's not so much that we haven't done much in free agency, that's fine with how crazy the market is. The major problem I have is that we released the guy that was most of our offense last year - Travis Henry - and only have LenDale White currently on the roster. Then, we didn't even bother to pick up anybody to play alongside him, even considering that he's got serious durability issues. We'll give you Julius Jones for your 1st rounder
  11. I have no idea what MOT stands for. But, then again, I have no idea what Mott or Hoople stand for, either. I think MOT stands for Member of the Tribe, or Jew. That's the only meaning of "MOT" from Urban Dictionary that seems to fit.
  12. Since Stevens was just arrested in Arizona for DUI and possession of marijuana, do you still want him?
  13. Obviously Gameday is still in ST too: "Defensive switch from catcher to catcher for Jake Fox." Our LF is also undefined right now.
  14. Yeah, the Cubs took him as a 19th rounder in 2004 (as a sophomore - he slipped because of his bonus demands) and he returned to college. Wasn't he at GT when we drafted him, but then he transferred to Tulane?
  15. 7.0 IP, 6 ER, 10 R, 17 H, 3 K/0 BB. That's a 2.42 WHIP. And Aardsma's stat line: 5.2IP, 7 ER, 8 R, 11 H, 4 K/3 BB, 11.12 ERA, 2.5 WHIP
  16. What kind of stat line is this?
  17. He's a special teams stud, but is one dimensional as a player. He's good against the run, but he can't cover, and he can't rush the passer either. He's a good backup ILB/special teamer, but that's about it. That's pretty much it. Fowler is a beast on special teams. We're going to miss him there. He's only useful on rushing downs. He's horrible on passing downs. His special teams performance may be missed somewhat, but I think that a rookie could easily step up in his place. With Phillips' as the head coach, there will be an emphasis put on getting to the QB and that's just something that Fowler couldn't do. I wouldn't mind picking up another pass-rushing OLB in the draft this year (maybe someone like Robison or Bazuin) and moving Carpenter inside. I wasn't overly impressed by James this year and I think Carpenter can take his spot next to Ayodele. We can always pick up someone like Ameer Ismail or Martin Jackson either late in the draft or as a UDFA to take Fowler's spot.

  19. Some BandWGN you are starting. Remind me to not jump aboard this one. :) Oh, come on cubweiser! It'll be a fun ride straight to the top (of the scrap heap!!)
  20. http://www.eissbrothers.com/images/10000/10171%2094%20grand%20marquis/DSCF0014.JPG???
  21. Colvin says he gained 20lbs this offseason, but he sure looks smaller than I remember him from last year's CWS.
  22. Old Dominion makes it in to the Midwest.
