I have a good feeling that I will be happy for the 2nd year in a row. Willis or Nelson = smiling Andy With the money Dallas has already spent in the secondary, I'll be kind of upset to see us draft a DB. I also don't want to see a OL in the first round, give me Meachem, Jarrett, or Bowe.
Check out the Great American Dream Vote thread in Social... link I really should pay more attention to those Social threads. I thought the social section was restricted to those with a social life? :D
Cook came into this game with 4-0 record and 2.11 ERA this spring. Not bad. I don't like how it takes so long for Gameday to belch out the results when Prior is on the mound. The Cubs are losing the time of possession battle. It's all the punter's fault, we need to get better field position.
According to Gameday, he's only thrown 19 pitches. :D Yeah, I don't think they're doing a good job of tracking the number of pitches. They say that 4/5 batters in the 2nd jumped on Prior's first pitch...I wonder how accurate that is.
The NFL started awarding compensatory picks in 1993. seriously? are they all at the end of the draft? they must not talk about it much at all They are typically 2nd day picks, but occasionally are 3rd round picks as well.
Is anyone trying to watch the Braves-Mets game on ESPN? So far he's advocated trading away all decent prospects for proven players, letting veterans play and show the youngsters how to do it, and that major league experience is the only thing that matters. The other 2 broadcasters also poked fun at him by putting on #12 wristbands.
Here is a short video about him that was posted less than a week ago if anyone is interested. In the video he says that he's mainly talked to junior colleges, Hardin-Simmons, and Texas State. If he goes with a JUCO school, DFE might be a good route to take with him. Memphis is only a 1A school, so level of competition is quite low. He also looks on the small side and is listed at 5'10" 170lbs. Gotta love the accent though :D
Freshman year: 45 BB/32 K (227 AB - can't get the exact PA) Sophomore year: 56 BB/39 K (259 AB) So far junior year: 21 BB/20 K (99 AB) Overall. that's 122 BB/91 BB in 585 ABs. Oh, and his current line is: 31/99, .313/.439/.545/.984. 213 BB and no Ks seems decent to me  He could be a little more aggressive though.
I know Carr is from California, but if he willingly goes to Oakland with a worse O-line than Houston had then he truely had the sense beat out of him. Miami is clearly very interested and that would be a much better situation for him.
I sent in a vote from each of my 3 e-mail addresses, and I'm creating more to send in some extra votes. Unfortunately my full name appears for all 3 addresses I sent votes from, so I'm not sure if they'll all count.
Damn !! It's a long way from Marfa over to Dallas !! Hope to see you there. Well I live in Alpine, so 26 miles closer but not much. When I told my sister (who knows nothing about baseball), she wanted to know if we could get one of those cheap air conditioned box seats.
I just might buy one off of you Vance. I'm taking my sister up to Dallas sometime in June to go visit UT-Dallas, so I'm trying to talk her into dropping me off at the ballpark and let her go shopping.
Damn all of the severe weather/flash flood warnings in my area. They keep cutting to the weather so I can't watch the game...who cares if there's a tornado on the ground an hour away?
