  1. I didn't know that he was going back to West Tenn, but I did hear from Ron that Dopirak would be the everyday first baseman. And Sing should be the everyday first baseman in Iowa. I hope he isn't the everyday 1b. I know his defence would be rather weak, but his bat might carry him to the big leagues as a RF and he could work on his defence as he progresses there. At only 25 he's still got plenty of time to develop.
  2. Do yall think that Tejada for F. Cordero would be a good trade for me?
  3. C- Lopez 1b- Ortiz 2b- Kent 3b- Mora SS- Tejada OF- Dunn OF- Matsui OF- Giles Util- Furcal Bn- Belliard Bn- Dye Bn- Lofton SP- Myers SP- J. Patterson RP- Gordon RP- Howry P- J. Vazquez P- Maddux P- Capuano Bn- D. Davis Bn- Orvella My offense is star-studded, but my pitching seems a little weak to me. This is a standard 12-team league on yahoo with default stats. Also, this team hasn't been altered yet and all players came via an auto draft.
  4. Durazo isn't that bad of a player, but he's almost as frail as Wood and Prior put together. The most games he's ever played in a season is 154, but he only averages 89 games a season. As a bench player he'd be pretty good, but he's a liability even at 1b.
  5. Someone finally got one of them, since it has taken so long the other one (atleast that I know of) is Harvard's Matt Brunnig.
  6. How about this one: Farnsworth vs. Tavarez, who wins? Julian on the BoSox and Kyle on the Yankees, I think it could very well happen.
  7. Hey UK, with Joba Chamberlain having another excellent year where do you think he'll go in the draft?
  8. What? Cruz>Wellemeyer/Novoa Bobby Hill>Perez Choi>Mabry I'd take a healthy Novoa over Cruz, and I'd take Mabry over Choi. Novoa has more power and endurance, plus he's slightly younger. Cruz doesn't even have a defined position which hurts him IMO. Mabry over Choi is simply because of Mabry's versatility. I'd take Choi as a hitter, but since Mabry can play OF, 1b, and 3b he gets the overall nod.
  9. The game will be on XM 179 tonight for those with access. Does anyone know if the Rangers' radio crew is bad or not?
  10. When does voting open?
  11. I guess you can settle for the delayed gameday deal that they do. You could still follow the game action on your computer without anyone really knowing.
  12. Who's in charge of this platoon situation? Thanks, I just spit Gatorade on my monitor. I like Wily Mo, and it's too bad the Reds would ask for the world to trade him within the division. I hope he goes to the Red Sox, he should do pretty well with the monster there. If Willy Mo developed rather quickly next year, the middle of Boston's lineup would be very scary. Pena, Ramirez, and Ortiz could be very potent when they aren't striking out.
  13. He'll more than likely gain it all back. Weight lost during an illness like his is probably from an extreme drop in water weight on top of not eating very much.
  14. I think it really depends on the strengths and weaknesses of your team. Glaus will probably only put up a line like .250/30/110 if he plays pretty much the whole season. I also believe that he's had problems with his knees, and since he's up in Toronto with that turf that could cause problems again. Personally, I'd go after Blalock; especially in a keeper league.
  15. Sorry if I'm stepping on someone's toes here, but game time is getting close and there was still no game thread. Btw, the game will be broadcast on XM 181 for those with XM radio. Since we're the road team it will proably be the Angels' crew doing the game.
  16. You know the Cubs wouldn't get them. :( Not legally anyways, but since it's Cuba who cares about the laws? This is why we're forming a covert strike team to go down there and take the players that we want. Our elite strike team will be making regular trips to communist countries to extract their best talent and import it to the US under the radar.
  17. I stumbled across this while looking through profiles on different college websites and decided to see how many people here could get it right. Question: How many ambidextrous pitchers are currently active at the college level, and who are they?
  18. No kidding, that HR at the end of the game was impressive. I also really liked Cuba's 19-yr old starting pitcher.
  19. I'm starting a covert operational team to go to Puerto Rico and steal Yulieski Gourriel away from the Cuban National team. But on the serious side, what are the chances that he'll ever make it to the MLB?
  20. Brian Boehringer has given up solo shots to Nevin and Dellucci in the 6th, score is now 3-2 Texas.
  21. How did Brownlie look Bruce? So-so. Is his velocity still down or has it started to pick back up again?
  22. Top of the 5th and the score is 2-1 now.
  23. After 4 innings the score is still 2-0 Cubs.
  24. Thanks for the update, Bruce. Good to see some regulars starting to spring off good.
