  1. Especially in the low minors the starter/reliever stuff really doesn't matter much since they throw so few innings at a time. I believe Pawelek has have a few relief appearances this year for example, it's all just what they want the pitcher to work on. Since Parker has been doing some starting, I think it may be that they're trying to work out some sort of mechanical issues or pitch grip/location issues ala Aardsma when he first came into our system.
  2. Arizona is winning 3-1 in the bottom of the 5th. Parker went 4 inning 6H 1R 3/1 K/BB. McCormick has gone 1IP perfect 1/0 K/BB. Hackstedt has a solo homer; Rosario and Williams have the only other hits. Rundle has also walked both times up and scored once.
  3. Jamal Strong (even though he was only with us for a little while this year) .278/.357/.346 - 237AB, 11 doubles, 1 triple, 1HR, 10-11 SBA, 44/27 K/BB (AAA) Jon Connolly 3-0, 1.66 ERA, 21.6 IP, 14H, 5/4 K/BB (High-A) 1-1, 4.34 ERA, 18.6 IP, 24H, 7/1 K/BB (AA)
  4. I'm not sure if we've got enough to get him. Maybe Hill, Gallagher, Veal, and Atkins will get the job done? [/sarcasm]
  5. Pie and Harvey have both really turned it on lately. Hopefully they can continue that throughout the 2nd half and make us forget about the 1st half of the season.
  6. While he hasn't been hitting them out of the park as much, he's still been hitting the ball pretty hard as of late. I believe he hit quite a few that went off the wall in the Milwaukee series and came close to a few homers. Earlier in the season he was just getting on top of the ball alot and grounded out most of the time.
  7. This actually looks like a really cool site. Looking back through old leagues it's nice that they've got graphs to breakdown scoring by positions and by week. They've also got free live-updating stats which will be nice. Now it just needs more users so that there is a decent competition level. EDIT: Here is an example of ways they break down everything for those who are interested in this.
  8. Does Mesa ever play night games? We've already had all of the teams playing on the road at the same time and at home at the same time; now we need to have the same start times.
  9. Colvin was 1-3 with a double, rbi, and walk today. He's still scuffling quite a bit, but after starting out horribly he BB/K rate is now 8/14.
  10. I certainly thought about it, or perhaps "accidentally" tripping him up the stairs O:) . I just gave him a look - you know the one..."you @#$%#$ how do you mess a team up so badly" that one. You should've walked by, "accidentally" tripped, and spilled a beer on him. Then walk back later and try to apologize and start sneezing right in his face.
  11. Klesko hasn't even played this year, and as of Monday he was still have problems throwing. If they're wanting to dump him in a deal for a 3B, I say no deal. He's still owed roughly $5 million this year, and he's got an $8 million club option of $0.5 million buyout for next year. They also don't have much in the way of prospects that would sway me to even want to take him.
  12. I joined under the user name LightsOut and team name Sack Masters....I too noticed that it wasn't a keep league but FF teams are still fun.
  13. How did Hill look tonight? I forgot what time it was on it and came home after Hill's night was done. I see he had decent velocity, but how was his movement and control?
  14. Pick him up, then package Howry, ARam, and TWalk (or some comparable package) to the Yanks for ARod. I don't think the Yankees would go for it; that gives them two 3B (Ensberg might be able to play in OF but I don't think he ever has which makes it a rather hard sell) and Cano should be back soon. I would mind getting ARod, from the Yankees end it doesn't seem like they're getting much. I also wonder what it'd take to get Ensberg from the 'Stros?
  15. By level I think that Petrick wins for Boise, Atkins for Peoria, Veal for Daytona, Gallagher/Shaver tie at West Tenn, and Hill wins for Iowa. Overall I think the top pitcher is Hill, with Gallagher and Veal in a dead heat behind him. If Petrick gets moved up soon and continues his dominance as well, he's up here too.
  16. Well when Zambrano broke the bat across his leg, it didn't even leave a mark. Lets hope that he'll come out as lucky this time. Fungo bats have little weight or mass to them so I'm hoping it did little damage.
  17. There's also the Remmy vs. Recliner incident, Bill Mueller sliding into a rotating sign, Wood and Choi colliding, Nomar coming out of the box, CP running to first base....
  18. Problem is, milb.com has Rafael and Rafaelito listed separately. Rafaelito is listed as an OF, whereas Rafael is a SP. True but the Rafelito could be an old record. There is only a 1 inch difference and a 15lb weight difference which could be easy to do for a young Domincan coming into the US. Maybe he was a strong-armed OF with no bat down there so when he came up he converted to a P?
  19. Probably, but with only one game going on, that should come as little surprise. Also, I still have no idea how old Rafael Dolis is. Try searching under the name Rafaelito Dolis...same name but I've found more info on him. In the old minor league transactions, I found his name as far back as 2001 when he signeda new contract with the DSL Orioles. In 2002, he was listed as "Reserved" with the DSL Orioles, and in 2004 he was listed as "Addendum" for the DSL Orioles. My guess would be that he is 21-22 assuming he was 16-17 when he signed the new contract with the DSL Orioles in '01.
  20. Mesa won the game 6-4. Platt actually got the start for Mesa going 2IP and allowing 1 unearned run. Bernard did get the win however going 3IP allowing 1 hit and a 2/4 K/BB rate. Rosario was 2/4 with a double, rbi, a walk, and a SB. Williams and Murphy had the other 2 rbi, the rest of the runs scored on wild pitches.
  21. I think that Dusty bought himself some time with the slight turnaround before the break. IMO he doesn't deserve it, but this is a "what have you done for me lately" business, and the way the team has been playing recently will be at the front of Hendry's mind. Combine that with the fact that we may not be able to find a decent candidate right now, and unfortunately I think he'll be here through the end of the year.
  22. So how long until DLee for Howard threads pop up?
  23. I'm glad that The Don is starting to get that go-fo number in line. It seems like his control was a bit off tonight but still a good outing.
  24. I wish I could make it to atleast one game but I probably won't this year. It'll be a fun team to watch for sure though, that defense is gonna be nasty.
  25. You can't walk across home plate.. Tell that to Nevin. I believe it was Barrett that walked home, was it not?
