No, you can't submit twice (well, you can, but only your first entry will count). If you join Premium by the end of this month, then your entry will count for the $100 cash prize. If you don't join or join after 11/30 you'll be entered for the three months of Premium prize. -

This one will take most of the winter to resolve, but it's going to be a good one. I've put together a page that lists the major free agents and puts a drop down list next to each name. The contest is to name as many destinations as possible. Each correct answer will be weighted by the player's VORP (Value Over Replacement Player) so that ties will be extremely unlikely. It also makes certain that someone that correctly names where Beltre ends up gets more credit than someone that picks where Derek Lowe ends up. Right now, I don't have the form tied to the database yet. I'm looking for feedback on whether I've got the right names out there. If there's someone that you feel should be there and isn't, let me know. Likewise, if there's someone on the list that shouldn't be let me know that. I'll tie everything into the database tomorrow night and entries will be taken through Sunday night. I'll announce the prize at that time. I'll also put together a page that will show "Current Standings" so that we can all check progress as the offseason progresses. I'll also make it possible to retrieve your entry as the offseason goes so you don't have to write down everything you entered. Here's the contest entry form as it stands tonight...

Yea, me too. I've never tried this "Site-mail" that you speak of. But i get this funky message when I tried to upload an avatar. Are you using Firefox?

I'm confused. here was my code logic up until today in checking whether someone was premium: if(user is in premium table), then (premium = true); Which meant that people that had paid $5 back in August were still getting premium, even though they haven't paid for October. Now, the logic looks like this: if(user is in premium table and today (with the side note that subscription users have an end date set out in 2040 until such a time as they cancel their subscription)

I updated the code that checks if a person is premium today to check dates (it had previously just been checking if someone had ever signed up for Premium). If I've messed up anyone's entry in the database, please let me know. Thanks! And/or Sorry! Tim

The chances of getting Hendry are somewhere between slim and none. I'll work on Fleita. Mark was able to interview him, but never got his notes out to the website. I'll try to see if I can pick up where he left off, though. That would be cool. I think most of us would love to hear some comments from Fleita. I know getting Hendry to answer some questions would be a major coup, but if he knew the intelligence of the Cud fans here, maybe... BTW...You're doing a great job, Tim. Keep up the good work. How about getting Bruce Miles to stop by again? That might just happen. I believe that Bruce is still a regular reader here, so hopefully he'll be willing to stop by for a chat!

To be completely fair, the triple was probably a fly out if: 1) the wind weren't blowing out, or 2) Marrero had done a decent job of tracking it and going back on it (which I believe was influenced by (1) ). Still, he drove two balls the opposite way and crushed a home run to dead center that would have been gone with a wind blowing in at 15 MPH. Not a bad day for "the Creature".

I'd be fine with Dubois as our starting LF (or RF) next year...if an impact player is added somewhere else. Jason's problem is that he's another right handed power hitter in a lineup replete with them.

More good stuff: I found a way to have long text lines (like aaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh) not stretch the screen so that a scroll bar becomes necessary. Premium users don't have to see the advertisements (and there's just going to be more and more in the regular forum. And those of you that are looking at them, please, click through and buy stuff! I'm trying to find interesting stuff to advertise, at least. :) ).

Have you tried all of them or just a couple? I just tried them all. Still not doing anything Which browser do you use?
