    Yea, but that (and the Brees one above) was like 20+ years ago. Passing stats should be up. The point was to answer rmack's assertion that quarterbacks don't perform poorly for their first 16 games and then reach their potential. Possibly the best quarterback ever had that very pattern.

    Manning had a 71.2 rating, 56.7% completion percentage and 28 interceptions his rookie year. I think he turned out okay.

    The Bears and the Cubs being good in the same year is so incredibly rare. I think the last time they both made the playoffs in the same year was 1984. 89 was the only year over an 8 year span the Bears failed to make the playoffs, then the Bears were mostly bad until 2005 and 2006 which is during the 3 year gap between the 03 Cubs and the 07-08 division champs. Edit: Just looked it up. The ONLY 2 calendar years where the Cubs and Bears both made the playoffs in the same year are 1984 and 1932. Were talking 2 of the very oldest franchises in their respective sports. Crazy I guess the Bears are screwed then.
