  1. Roquan is a pretty good blitzer. I admit I wasn't thrilled about spending a first round pick on an inside LB, but he's been fantastic.
  2. Nothing wrong with our dumb qb on that drive.
  3. Brennaman is horrible. Nagy was yelling at Gabriel, not Trubisky.
  4. You seem to be actually rooting for Mitch to be bad. Continues to be so odd. You were most vocal about Cutler coming back last year, yet seem to be anxious to criticize Mitch in his 2nd season. He's not playing poorly at all. He made one bad play. Two if you count the int called back because of penalty. But your point still stands.
  5. wait, what? No way he got there.
  6. no way they would have gotten the field goal team in there on time
  7. Bears are getting screwed here.
  8. This field is horrible. Guys have been falling everywhere today
  9. thank god for that dpi
  10. That was my thought. Plus all the renovations.
  11. He's terrible. Couldn't even pitch at spacious Oakland. Weren't you the one with the "any SP can be a great RP" idea?
  12. Are they buying into "any third starter could be made into the world's best closer" idea?
  13. last four years: .460, .373, 413, .393 The .399 projection is probably conservative. Same exercise for Yelich: .366, .376, .369, .402 His .381 projection is probably a reasonable of a greater amount of history at lower performance vs more recent performance at a higher level. -------------- Harper is absolutely a better hitter (and a bit younger) than Yelich. The contract situation means that Yelich is certainly a better bargain. But let's not pretend that Harper is anything but a projected superstar for the first few years of his contract.
  14. I'll point out something here: Harper projected OBP in 2019: .399 Yelich projected OBP in 2019: .381
  15. mhuber, If you can cite a good source for your claim on the south american volcano, I'll take the time to give you a thought out response without any vitriol.
  16. No - but is Heyward someone we want in the outfield through '23? ---------- In the "won't happen, but wouldn't it be nice" category of one team bailing another out of bad contracts... Melancon, Will Smith and Tony Watson for Heyward, Duensing and any two prospects SF wants outside of our top 3. And then sign Harper. It would make zero sense to free up money by getting out of one horrendously bad contract just to run right into another one Are you talking about Melancon or Harper?
  17. I really need to look into getting a dislike button. It's a joke. Chill out. You see, your joke wasn't funny. My joke was funny. Hence the likes.
  18. Jeff Passan is saying that this move alone won't clear up enough space to sign Harper and stay under the tax, but it certainly makes it a lot easier to swing a trade to clear the remaining. Hypothetically they could use this space on multiple other free agents rather than just Harper but its hard for me to see a team making a move like this if they weren't trying to get a generational talent. Edit: Also their OFs are something like Enrique Hernandez, Joc Pederson, Andrew Toles and Chris Taylor. They will be almost assuredly acquiring another OF. Maybe they cleared money so that they could trade for Heyward.   I really need to look into getting a dislike button.
  19. Enough to trade for Kluber or try to sign Kuechel? This *costs* Cincy quite a bit of money for 2019.
  20. Interesting OF defense for Cincy next year. Puig, Kemp, Winker and Schebler were all various degrees of horrible out there last year.
  21. No - but is Heyward someone we want in the outfield through '23? ---------- In the "won't happen, but wouldn't it be nice" category of one team bailing another out of bad contracts... 22. UK posted pretty much that exact trade scenario about two months ago, I believe.
  23. oh boy
  24. If someone wants to write an article, I'll post it on the front page. horsefeathers this.
  25. Uh, you do know that all but 2 games are predetermined, right? Each division rotates which division in their own and the opposite conference that they play in entirety every year (8 games). 6 division games. And the other 2 games they play the team that finishes in the same place in the other 2 divisions in the same conference as the team does in their own. Pretty sure he knows.
