This statement makes no sense it makes sense. It's silly and illogical, but it makes sense. he's telling you why he thinks something happened. That's an opinion, and they don't need to be backed with facts to be intelligible, even if they are nonsensical Now that i take a look at it, i see what Gammons is saying...but its an incorrect data conclusion. The percentage of HRs hit out to LF has been dropping since they added the seats in 2003, and with everything being equal, Gammons would have reached the logical conclusion that the seats were causing the mayhem. The assumption is that everything remained equal...and it did not. Big Papi is the reason the % of HRs is increasing to RF, which is causing the numbers to drag to LF. Ortiz actually hit more HRs in Fenway last year than Psycho...the first time that has happened. The funny thing looking at the stats for the last 10 years is the 2 curves: 2007 13/15 2006 74/73 2005 79/72 2004 77/111 2003 74/111 2002 68/77 2001 77/97 2000 77/66 1999 72/80 1998 83/93 1997 62/90 The Sox pitchers have been remarkably consistent, while the hitters have not.
