    That's absurd. I'd much rather know I was a shot here or a break there from winning than not be in the game. In the course of a season you will have plenty of 10 pt losses. Even the best teams will. I hate the near heart attack/anger I end games with when you lose by one in overtime. Would you rather the Cubs lose by 1 in the 12th inning on a walk off or lose by 3 in nine? Did I have the Cubs and the run and a half, or the opponent less the run and a half?

    Really? I love it. The WBC extension means we'll have just two months with no baseball. Long, bleak offseasons suck. The next WBC is in 2013.

    How's that possible with Blair getting 80 boards per game? Is this going to be a season long thing where you're nowhere to be found when Blair plays well and constantly yapping when he doesn't? It's not like he was even the problem for the Spurs tonight. Anyway, good win. Rose looked about a billion times better on defense. The Bulls didn't really shoot it very well from the floor or the line but it seemed like there was a good cutback on wasted possessions (e.g. Gordon dribbling off his foot 3x a game). And I'm not complaining about Vinny which is nice. So you'll hear him yapping at least 70 times this season.

    Except that Kyle Blanks is just not an outfielder. They should trade Gonzalez to Boston for however much young talent they can get and give Blanks the job at 1b. Seems like the most logical thing to do. Epstein has a buddy in the NL that he can help, but can also help him now too. If you can get three good prospects for him, move Blanks to 1st, and then sign a big FA with that money they would be much better off. I don't know San Diego, but Gonzalez doesn't come across as being a guy any fan would be very attached too. I thought he was one of those guys in San Diego. While I was in Mexico a week and a half ago, there were Adrian Gonzalez commericials in darn near every commercial break for the ALCS and NLCS.

    depends on what kind of contracts the local announcers have signed with their local affiliates. beyond that, there's this ridiculous thing that NATIONAL broadcasts need NATIONAL announcers. TBS would probably think they were slumming to use the Fox Sports Midwest crew for their broadcasts. But it's not limited to baseball; NFL broadcasts are just as bad Well there aren't local TV crews at all for the NFL, so thats not really an avenue that can be pursued.
