  1. It worked for Beck. Heck, they even named a beer after him. They also named a musician after him.
  2. The Cards offered this last year for the new stadium, as did the Padres, the price is about par for the course.
  3. Julie went ballplayer hunting, as I am out in LV. She tells me that while at the bar he was totally smashed, and that he repeatedly mentioned how with Dempsters new deal he was stuck behind him fo the closer's role.
  4. You saw that mess at the bar? Talking crap about being stuck behind Dempster for three years.
  5. So because of the washed up, bullpen-battler signing the Cards are going to the series? Hmm. Well, makes sense to me! im pretty sure he was sarcastic. Yeah I read it too fast, so either it was all sarcasm or no sarcasm. I went with the former. GOD I'M AN IDIOT. GEEZ. Attack your post, not yourself.
  6. The run wouldn't count, would it? According to the rule book a player may be substituted if a player injures himself rounding the bases and can not continue. So 25 man roster and 30 round magazine you do the math  Gabe Kapler ruptured his Achilles last year on a HR. And Grafanino stood there like a cold heartless monster. (Just Kidding, one of the most heads up plays I have seen)
  7. 11-Billy Jurges, Bennie Tate, Charlie Wiedemeyer, Bill Lee, Al Todd, Mickey Kreitner, Mickey Livingston, Cliff Aberson, Merv Shea ©, Bob Muncrief, Carl Sawatski, Smoky Burgess, Toby Atwell, Joe Garagiola, Bob Speake, Cal Neeman, Ed Bouchee, Alex Grammas, Moe Morhardt, Don Kessinger, Paul Popovich, Ivan DeJesus, Dan Briggs, Ron Cey, Jim Sundberg, Luis Salazar, Phil Stephenson, George Bell, Jeff Kunkel, Rey Sanchez, Jose Nieves, Michael Tucker, Todd Dunwoody, Chris Stynes, Mark Grudzielanek, Ronny Cedeno I saw a Jose Nieves Cubs Jersey in the bleachers 2 years ago.
  8. You can't have it both ways. If you state the 100 million is a reason there should be no holes (Which I agree with), you cannot counter and say they are cheap.
  9. Congrats to him.
  10. I will always take the word of a guy named "cheapseats" when it comes to value dates.
  11. Was it not enough for you to post this puff in one forum, instead of two?? Lock, please. Give me a "D"! Give me an "I"! Give me a "C"! ...
  12. I'd say it affects it more. A golden example is right now the Dominican is paying higher odds than the US in the WBC at Caesar's Palace.
  13. I never doubted you had read that somewhere, but you can get much better odds if a bet were to be put on the Marlins.
  14. Wow. Is that considered laziness? apathy? or lying?
  15. Those were form betonusa.com When I get back to Vegas next week I will get the sheet from the Casinos. I know for A FACT the Cubs were going off at 9:1 last week. I will post the official Caesars/Flamingo card ASAP
  16. Those are the current odds being offered. Clearly the Marlins are not 16:1 as the other post said. Arizona Diamondbacks 60-1 Atlanta Braves 20-1 Baltimore Orioles 60-1 Boston Red Sox 10-1 Chicago Cubs 15-1 Chicago White Sox 9-2 Cincinnati Reds 50-1 Cleveland Indians 14-1 Colorado Rockies 100-1 Detroit Tigers 60-1 Florida Marlins 750-1 Houston Astros 15-1 Kansas City Royals 350-1 Los Angeles Angels 10-1 Los Angeles Dodgers 30-1 Milwaukee Brewers 60-1 Minnesota Twins 25-1 New York Mets 7-1 New York Yankees 4-1 Oakland Athletics 14-1 Philadelphia Phillies 30-1 Pittsburgh Pirates 100-1 San Diego Padres 25-1 San Francisco Giants 20-1 Seattle Mariners 75-1 St Louis Cardinals 6-1 Tampa Bay Devil Rays 200-1 Texas Rangers 50-1 Toronto Blue Jays 20-1 Washington Nationals 60-1
  17. You need to add the word "in" after "appears" and before "Michael." And Lewis' should be Lewis's. Lewis' is also correct If Lewis is the prural of Lewi, then yes.
  18. Who knew, TOSU jumps right onto this topic?
  19. Over the past three years Z has almost completely shut down the Cards, but only has a 4-3 record to show for it. In 11 starts, his BAA vs Stl is .205, WHIP = 1.02, 69 K's in 85 IP ... but only 4-3, that's just criminal. I was at wrigley in mid 04 when Z got tossed for plucking Edmonds twice. It was the single most exciting game I've ever been to. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/recap?gid=240719116 I love this rivalry. I was there, with my best friend. A Cardinals fan.
  20. I just cannot figure out how having Tejada in the rotation is a good thing.
  21. For that alone Hendry, Baker, and Rothschild should be fired. you know, i wouldn't go so far as to say they should all be fired, but that was really inexcusable. of course, you'll hear nothing about it from them...they'll act like the whole thing never happened and that they never planned on wood being ready by april. A $12M/year pitcher? No, those are grounds for firing. Not that I agree they should all be fired for the offense, but isnt doing someting that is inexcusable the ultimate reason the fire someone?
  22. Umm, No. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ozzie_Guill%C3%A9n Unless he played both the Brewers and Tigers in the Same game. (They were about a month and a half apart.) Can this please end the same game nonsense?
  23. If a plane crashes, I would at least talk to the mechanics to see if they saw anything before takeoff.
  24. While I am not sure what the (2) does mean, I am fairly certain it does not mean "twice" or "two times". First, they only list one inning. Second the are some (1)'s on the list, if that only meant "one time" why would they ever put (1)? Finally, every single time a (2) is present, there is only one "victim" listed. If it were an indicator or "two in the same game" I have a hard time believing every time somebody pulled the trick twice in the same game, it was always on the same runner both times.
  25. He was the highest paid in baseball history when he signed the contract. http://espn.go.com/mlb/s/mlbsalary.html
