  1. Yeah, and notice who Riley ordered to have injured. Not Hinrich, but Deng. Deng's a threat. That's why Riley tried to take him out. I don't think this was a Riley order to take out Deng in particular. Deng was going up, Posey saw an opportunity.
  2. Cedeno's OBP was .005 higher than Neifi's. That is pretty darned insignificant. Ronny was just as bad as Neifi. Seriously. It cracks me up when people try to say that Cedeno was better than Neifi last year. I'd take .254/.266/.343/.610 over .245/.271/.339/.610 every day of the week. Some people seem to forget that a hit is better than a walk. What do you consider a better AB.....a 10 pitch walk with no one on base or a first pitch single with no one on base? Not that I disagree with you....but which is better a 2 out walk with runners on 2nd and 3rd or a two out single with runners on 2nd and 3rd.
  3. Free Big Macs soon.
  4. I really hate the Heat. I mean, a ton. Even with Shaq and Wade being pretty likeable. Haslem, Williams, Posey, Zo, etc. I can not stand them.
  5. And Thomas this year.
  6. That sounds pessimistic.
  7. Count me amongst those in attendance who are unhappy about this.
  8. won't somebody please make a comment like this and actually state your case. back this up with some analysis please. Your constant badgering of people to backup with analysis is bordering on trolling for arguments. The analysis has been stated, repeatedly. trolling. whatever. I could make a stronger case that constant whining without backing it with an argument is closer to trolling than anything I am doing here. no, no analysis has been given other than this macro genernalization type bs. nobody has said the Cubs will be terrible and then gone on to give their own projections on a player by player or position by position analysis, or even Pecota (which I understand isn't even out yet) or Zips projections. I did. projected to 800+ runs. it stirs no discussion. it elicited no mia culpa. is just bitching really that much more interesting than discussing why that will or will not be? you want to whine about how bad the Cubs will be, but won't put your overwhelming knowledge to work, come up with some projections for where the players will finish, from that determine where they will be at the end of September. I really thought that's what the purpose of this discussion board was. reasoned analysis and debate before baseless conjecture and hyperbole. are you freaking blind? The post you are referencing said they had a realistic shot for .500 and could contend for the division with a few breaks. whine, whine, whine, blah, blah, blah. The Cubs are a work in progress. They've sucked for two years, and have made some improvements, but they've got a ways to go to have any realistic expectations for greatness. If you want to complain, once again, that that is not enough analysis therefore I'm just complaining unnecessarily, so be it. http://rambusek.webpark.pl/grafika/humor/catfight.jpg
  9. IIRC, Grace had more hits in the 90's than any other player in the game during that period. I could be wrong, though. That is true, but still doesn't make him hall worthy. He also had more doubles than anyone in the 90's as well.
  10. Bored now that skool is out for awhile? :P  Could also be "Obi Wan"
  11. Two new mouths to feed for ya?
  12. I - L - L ! 73-70 "We're talkin' minimun 8-pete"
  13. The Hawks are 14-13-5. The 5 is not ties, they are OT losses. They have won 14 games, and lost 18. As much as it is reported, they are not over .500 Ah, I see. They just showed 14-13 on the tv Yeah, my "rant" wasn't directed towards you at all.

  15. How is the finger wagging not one of those technicals?
  16. Andre Dawson and Mark Grace were great players for the Cubs, but they do not even come close to deserving Sammy Sosa status in terms of retired numbers. Don't forget that at the present time, the Cubs only have 4 numbers retired (Banks, Williams, Santo, Sandberg). It's a pretty exclusive club. I mean if we are going to retire Grace's number, we might as well retire Gabby Hartnett, Hack Wilson and other Cubs of yesteryear that actually led the team to WS appearence. I don't think Wilson wore a number, but your point stands.
  17. Seriously, thats why I just watched it. I don't even have sound.
  18. The Clubhouse is plenty veterany as is. If you want to argue they need a veteran for the bench because none of their young guys are good enough, okay. But they don't need veteran presence, they need production. What's Shea Hillenbrand doing? Prank calling John Gibbons. A friend for Lilly. Even better.
  19. People are wasting their time talking about this shortstop thing and Giles. The Cubs, whether you like it or not, are happy with Izturis and are not looking for a shortstop. They signed DeRosa for three years to be their second baseman. They are not going to sign Giles. I definitely don't like it even though what you are saying is true. It just goes to show you with all the money spent on this team we will be lucky to make the playoffs. isnt it ridiculous how much medicrity costs these days- a quarter of a billion for a third place team- Payroll jumping to 250 million!! Now we're really talking.
  20. You should attend any Bulls games. Fixed. :( But I have tickets to go to the 12/23 game against Charlotte - finally my first game. (Should've gone to Game 6 last year but the NBA decided to not have the first round take 3 weeks like usual, so I wasn't done with school in time to get up there.) Season ticket holder here, whenever you're in town, let me know.
  21. So was Ernie Banks And Devin Hester, also alot of hot chicks. At one point I thought it was the Cubs cameraman, because he was showing all the hotties. On a scale of 1-10, here is how I would rate the reaction of the fans: 10 out of 10 - Cheering for the Bulls to hit 100 for the Big Macs 9 out of 10 - Hester on the Jumbotron (this was extended for about 30-40 seconds too, a lot of people stood up and clapped) 7 out of 10 - Banks 6 out of 10 - Soriano (a noticible contingent of boos from White Sox fans, who didn't boo Banks) 3 out of 10 - The rest of the game action. Bulls fans are lifeless unless they are begged to cheer, and most of the time its not during game action. Don't forget 11 out of 10 - Booing the Bulls' failure to get to 100 That was freaking embarrassing at the end of the game tonight. I hate our fans sometimes. They don't deserve all the compliments BG gives them. I was there. Know what you're talking about before you lash out. The booing was directed at Seatle, who got the ball with 26 or so seconds and then ran clock. No way. I heard boos when we missed a shot with 99 points and Seattle got the ball. The fans were booing the missed shot before the Sonics began running out the clock as I recall. To each his own, think as you like. Either way there was NO ill will towards the players after the final buzzer. It was actually a bit comical in the stands. From the 6 or so total attempts at 100, to the final 30 seconds. The fans had a good time with it.
