  1. My wife is on Murton's lap, on the Cubs.com frontpage. How does this happen?
  2. Mods, put this wherever. A buddy of mine has a pair of passes for this weekend, he is asking 50 a piece. PM or IM me and I will put you in contact.
  3. especially since the city just had one a few years back Just announce plans for a new stadium, have MLB give the 2013 (AZ should get 2011) game to Wrigley. Then after the game scrap the new ballpark plans because of "public outcry"
  4. Are you kidding me? California invented it. There are whole towns you can't smoke in. Del Mar and Solana Beach, you are not allowed to smoke in your car as you pass through. It's banned at beaches, stadiums, pretty much everywhere. A smoking area well away from the non-smokers would have been a much more effective plan. To make me leave the stadium and then cross the street before I light up, thanks, but no thanks. I can see the game perfectly fine from my tv. I'll buy my consessions at the local grocery store, and they'll be much cheaper, thanks! Meanwhile, corporate America, who voted out smoking pull into their parking spot in their 10 MPG smog emitting SUV's. You won't smoke while doing it though.
  5. When did they trade for Arod?!? I'd rather have Pujols over ARod. For one season? Because that is all "Best player" means. I too would rather have Pujols on my teams from this point forward, but Arod is the best.
  6. yeah, I heard he was black.... I had a good laugh, thanks.
  7. I was at the game too. What section were you? It was shocking to see just how bad the Grizzlies are. Gasol looked like he just fell out of bed, and he played like it too----though he still seems to be the best player on the team, that's not saying much. They reminded me of the Bulls right after the dynasty ended. Nothing of note on the roster, shooting that is epic in its badness, and obvious lack of effort. I wish that 1st rounder was in a trade with these guys now, not the Knicks 8-) I was in 332
  8. Didn't we lose him to the Marlins in the expansion draft? Ah, the good ol' days. ;) You're a little backwards. baseballreference.com
  9. Also, if you are in the Comcast Chicago area, you do not even need the DTV Sportspak to get channel 640. You can cheack online through DirecTV's website.
  10. http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/images/smilies/lmao.gif ive kinda gotta agree with JR, ive got up to 6 inches of snow sitting on my dish right now and am getting perfect reception, rain never bothers it either, in fact i used to lose my cable during rainstorms all the time. my guess is that the guy who installed your dish didnt know what the heck he was doing. Agreed. Dish here, only once did I lose the signal, and that was for about 30 seconds. (This was also the first week I had the dish, and I think it was a maintainance check)
  11. You wish. Dead last my friend, 6th.
  12. Do you know where your seats are? My friend got to the top of the list a few years ago, but his seats are in the 525ish section. Really crappy. Especially when the sun sets. Every year I just take the day off of work when the single game tickets go on sale and buy up bleacher tickets to all the games I want to go to. MUCH MUCH better than getting season tickets. Not sure on the details yet, but was told through the grapevine they were lower deck. I have done the tickets.com thing for years as well, and still will, but bear in mind that 5 dollar per ticket sure is a killer when buying a dozen games.
  13. \ Quite simple actually. Why pitch a full season for 17M when someone will pay you the same to pitch 1/2 a season? Call him that mid-season pickup and run for the play-offs. Well roll your eyes all you like, but what you stated just isn't true. Whatever he signs with for a "full season" is prorated to however long he plays. Last season he signed something around 22 million, and actually got about 12 I recall. If you're saying he could sign for 17 for the full season right now, or sign for 30 later and make 17, essentially getting the same contract for half the work, well then I just plain disagree with you.
  14. However many people do no renew, that is how many are available.
  15. If you're willing to do the time (ticket), you can do the crime. He committed a ticketable offense, not worthy of an arrest. eh...I'm not sure that we have the whole story. His words evidently weren't..."I'm willing to pay the ticket. I need to get my bags inside, so please write the citation." Yeah, I think the tone in which he said it and the exact words he used are the key here. Oh, surely. I am sure we don't have the full altercation represented here.
  16. Obviously I have no idea on numbers, but someone I know was given the call, and will be getting season tickets beginning next year. The best part of this? A am getting in for 25% share of the season! \:D/
  17. If you're willing to do the time (ticket), you can do the crime. He committed a ticketable offense, not worthy of an arrest.
  18. Does anybody else think it is about time to lay off Muskat?
  19. Go Chiefs!
  20. He hits well, doesn't walk well.
  21. I don't recall the details of the incident, but reading through this post made me think of it also. Funny someone else mentioned too. All I remember was Dawson getting hit in the head, he went down, the trainers coming out and after a few minutes, he stood up and went after the pitcher. The Hawk was great. BTW, you should add "Put it on the BOOAARRDDDD, YES!" to your annoying sayings in your sig. A team-neutral baseball fan uncle of mine taunts me with that because he knows it annoys the living poo out of me. I thought about adding that one too. But I didn't want to dedicate any more room to one of the worst broadcasters on television. Well then you really aren't bringing your "A" game to your sig. Maybe you should kick it up a notch, give 110%, but I guess it is what it is.
  22. Soriano 8 years, 136 million Zito 7 years, 126 million
  23. ESPN Frontpage has it at 7 years, 18 per.
  24. Yeah, and notice who Riley ordered to have injured. Not Hinrich, but Deng. Deng's a threat. That's why Riley tried to take him out. I don't think this was a Riley order to take out Deng in particular. Deng was going up, Posey saw an opportunity. I do. This is a pattern with Riley. He gave Posey the go-ahead at first opportunity. Obviously I can't prove it. But we're not in a court of law. I believe Riley orders hits on players. I'm not saying Riley wasn't behind it, I'm saying "The List" of guys was not just Deng.
