  1. Pitchers tend to recover better when having TJ than they do with shoulder surgery. The shoulder is one thing you do not want to mess with if you are making a living throwing a baseball. Shoulder scopes actually have a better success rate than TJS I don't think this was a simple shoulder scope. There was some labrum damage and also a problem with the rotator cuff. Ya, I know exactly what it was because I happen to have had the same exact injury and surgery as him, as well as having the surgery the day after him. I cant throw til the end of the month but im already swinging a bat, I assume hes about at the same point as I am. What Prior had done has a BETTER success rate than TJS. He had his Labrum repaired because it was torn and then he had superficial rotator cuff damage which is nothing. All it is, is damage little scrapes and cuts in your rotator cuff that you get from throwing with a torn Labrum, which Prior did for 2+ years thanks to the Cubs genius medical staff. It is easily repaired, the real issue with Prior was the Labrum and according to my surgeon, who I throughly questioned, 80% of the surgery's result in an improvement in velocity and effectiveness from when you were healthy, and the other 20% are AS good as they were before. There is a less than .5% rate of failure. Prior earned his rep as a softy because he went on the DL so much, but if ANYONE played 2 years with a serious injury that was never fixed then ANYONE would go on the DL all the time. The Cubs FINALLY fixed Prior and he is in much better shape than anyone thinks he is, I expect him to be in the rotation next year, the Cubs obviously shouldn't plan on it, but it sure will be nice when Prior kicks Marquis out of the rotation in the spring. Chris Carpenter had the same problem and came back to be better than he ever was pre-op, as he won a Cy Young. Prior is less likely to injure his shoulder again than someone with a perfect health record, its nearly impossible to re-injure your shoulder after that operation, they tighten your tendons to stabilize your shoulder and prevent future injury. Go ahead and doubt, but if your reading this, don't be surprised when Prior is in the starting 5 next season.

  3. Dude, I don't give a ****, to be honest, I am happy they have that up, stair that curse in the ---SOAPDROPPING--- eye, and spit in it's face. Lets win these 3 games, we have Hill vs Hernandez @ Home should be a win, then Zambrano vs Owings @ Home should be a win, that makes it 2-2, guys its all even then. The outcome of the first four games doesn't mean a thing to game five. It's a 1 game series, our best pitcher this year, Lilly, vs their best pitcher, Webb. We hit Webb hard during the regular season, lets get at him, this series is as winnable as 0-2 is ever going to be, lets take advantage of this. The Cubs CAN win, DON'T GIVE UP!!!! exactly what I keep telling myself. I have a good feeling for these next two games. We get back to game 5 and anything can happen. well thats what you should be thinking, how many times do teams lose 2 in a row then 3 wins right after that? its happened thousands of times, now we just gotta do it in the post season and I already pointed out my reasons why we can do it, but we have a bunch of pessimistic idiots who wanna go cut their wrists. Go ahead, the Cubs might still lose anyway, but this series is not even close to being over, sure it could end before we go to bed tonight, but something tells me this team isn't close to calling it quits anytime before November 2nd

  5. He said that the D-Backs had the #2 Pen, and he said that the Phillies were the worst team in every aspect of pitching, which he said usually translates to a quick first round exit.
  6. I only saw part of it, but on Mike and Mike in the Morning, he said that the Cubs had the best Starting Pitching, Bullpen, and Manager of the National League teams. I did not see him say the offense, but I'm sure he said good things, he was really praising the Cubs. He picked Cubs over Rockies in the NLCS.
  7. Anyone have an opinion?
  8. Guys, I'm having an internal conflict. I have tickets to tomorrows game and I can't decide if I just want em to get it over with tonight or if i wanna see em go crazy when they win tomorrow, whaddaya say? I'm thinking im gonna hope the brewers lose but I wouldnt be AS upset as usual if they win....but Harang kinda scares me tomorrow..come on Good Rich please
  9. you know this how? I have seen it been mentioned in multiple places not just wikipedia. I'm curious as to where u get your information
  10. Momentum in baseball exists in each individual game, but it does not carry over into each game. However, consistently winning in a row and coming through at the right time instills CONFIDENCE which allows it to occur more often. So momentum exists in individual games, and confidence exists over time.
  11. does anyone know of any good recap/highlight videos for this year?
  12. 1. Soriano - 7 2. DeRosa - 4 3. Rodriguez - 6 4. Ramirez - 5 5. Lee - 3 6. Soto - 2 7. Jones/Floyd/Murton/Other - 9 8. Pie - 8 Stacked

  14. exactly. if dude was in new york or boston or even st louis, the major networks wouldn't shut up about him. He has surpassed his cousin as a hitter and is easily out hitting him this year, yet if u asked someone at ESPN they would tell u how manny was for sure the better of the two. What? I said that he is better than Manny but ESPN would still say Manny is better they're related? Yeah, they are cousins

  16. O yeah, and Abreu and Matsui are much better than Aramis too....

  18. and just think about it, he had a 2 month stretch where he hit like 3 homers, take that out and put in his usual pace, he hits like 40 homers this year
  19. It's annoying that he is going to end up in total have missed nearly a month worth of games this year because I think had he not, he would be one of the top MVP candidates, especially if this Cubs finish this thing, which looks like its gonna happen. Even if he had only played 20 more games, he probably would have had 4-5 more homers and 13-14 more rbi, and add what he will do these last 7 games, which could be 2 or more homers based on how he's swinging the bat and 5ish rbi. That means he would have his total numbers look around .315 avg, .375 obp, .565 slg, .940 ops, 33 homers, 119 rbi, and the most clutch and best hitter on a division champion. Anyway just interesting to think about, but knowing that he missed too much to win the award, World Series MVP will do.
  20. Does anyone know a good place for Cubs montage videos like a recap of the season's highlights? I kinda wanna relive all the highs and lows I have had to endure to reach where we are today....this is the year..it's gonna happen.. LETS GO CUBS!
  21. Ward has been better than nearly every one of our every day players this year, Lou has been trigger happy to start everyone but him
  22. off topic, why the hell is LaRussa still batting the pitcher 8th? I thought it was a cute, annoying little gimmick the first time, but the fact that he still is, is just annoying and stupid, it makes no sense...O but it sets up the top of the order....no the top of the order sets itself up and i would want the pitcher to bat as little as possible, and what if a key situation falls to your pitchers spot? dumb managing, but then again, thats a good thing for us eh...
  23. Can we just drop Steve off the plane on the way to Chicago and let Sean get his job back, PLEASE. Sean has an ERA under 4.00, with a .500 record, the bumb we should never have gotten has lost us two games and is 6-10 overall with an ERA threatening to get to 5.00. He sucks, shouldn't have gotten him. Get rid of him ASAP, PLEASE!!!!
  24. Dempster fu*king suck, sry i had to, its too frustrating, jesus christ
