    I really feel bad for the guy. Scott had his ups and downs but I think he made a decent contribution to the team the 2+ years he was with us, and he was a likable guy, I hope he does well wherever he goes next. Although, would it be possible for him to come back in September?

    This could have been said already, but yeah, I don't think we need to worry about a decline from Z. I think this is just him really mastering pitching, his walks are way down and his strikeouts are down a little, but that's because he has learned he doesn't need to strike everyone out. If you get a guy down 1-2 or 0-2, you can just pitch to contact and give him something that there's no chance he can do anything with it. In the past Z might get ahead and then try to strike him out and get it to 3-2 and then walk him or strike him out, but now he's learning that an 0-2 groundout is just as good and that he doesn't need to strike him out. I don't think Z is declining, I think he's getting better.

    No to Burnett. Hudson or Harden, period. About the bold, Rich Hill. He's a better pitcher than Marshall and seems to be finally figuring things out. I don't know about you guys, but a rotation of: Zambrano Harden/Hudson Lilly Dempster Hill makes me feel all warm and fuzzy, that's an amazing rotation.

    I love Kerry Wood, I hope he never plays for anyone but the Cubs. He won't be a HOFer but we will all remember he had HOF talent. Kerry Wood is awesome, I hope we win one with Woody.

    i like how you say this. c'mon hendry, just go out and trade from our group of lousy prospects to acquire an excellent pitcher from a team that's 8 games over .500 and has a legitimate chance to make the playoffs! how can it be this difficult?!?!? Obviously I don't think that it's that easy I just wish we could add a top of the rotation pitcher. I think that we are one #1 or good #2 starter away from being an overwhelming World Series favorite. You don't think that a package of 4 or 5 players from a pool of Pie, Hill, Veal, Ceda, Murton, Patterson, Cedeno, and Colvin could net us an ace or a good #2?

    Zambrano>Dempster>Gallagher>Lilly>Hill>Marshall>Lieber>_____________Veal>_____________Marquis>Samardzija That's my confidence order for pitchers in the organization, I'm not saying that's how good they are just how confident I would be having those people on the mound. Basically while I was making this I was reminded how much our rotation blows, how the eff do the Cubs have the 2nd best ERA in the NL (going into today)? Jesus Christ, Jim, go effin get Harden.
