    That may not last. Looks like Leyland has as big of a man crush as DB did. From rotoworld.com Tigers managed Jim Leyland said he plans to use Neifi Perez over Omar Infante at second base for now. "I loved him in 1999 (with the Colorado Rockies) and I still love him," Leyland said. "He's got energy." If that's all it takes, maybe Richard Simmons can be signed to take over in left field. Even as a regular, Perez would have little value in AL-only leagues Seriously why do managers think he is good? He doesn't strike out a lot? I have no idea.

    With his production he CAN'T be our 2B next year. Not if Izturis is our SS. Well you convinced me..now go convince Mr. Hendry. The stupidity of it all is Cedeno IS Izturis for the league minimum. If hendry didn't have a hard on for Izturis we could have gotten good prospects back from LA and taken the now 7 million freed up from Neifi and Izturis to go into the pot for a legitimate starter/SLG outfielder, offensive 2B.

    No that's incorrect. He's horrible, he shouldn't be on ANY bench in MLB, he's beyond horrible, he's not even that great defensively for the cost, you can find any number of adequate 25th men on the bench for the league minimum. Pretty much under no circumstance should Neifi Perez be on a big league squad. Plus for the Tigers, they have to pay all 2.5 million of his next years salary.

    As the Tigers are about to find out. Watch him pull a Maddux on us not grounf out to the 2B every at bat Dude he's been AWFUL his whole career. That isn't about to change. Maddux wasn't awful his whole career.

    I think it's the standard thing to do after a player is traded to hear a few quotes from them about their previous team. There needs to be a cut off point. Are they going to get a comment from the next celebrity bat kid after he gets grounded and can't make the game? A cut off point? He JUST got traded. Give it a couple days.

    I don't think Hendry views Izturis as untouchable. I think he'd go in the right deal. Yeah, I think there are other GMs who think as highly of Izturis as Hendry. I'm holding out hope that he is traded to one of those teams for a legitimate major league player, and not another young Neifi. Will people get off this *#%$ "young neifi". Izturis isn't a "young neifi" ok. Plain and simple. Give the guy a chance to rebound from his injury. Okay, maybe he isn't that young. How about a younger Neifi? Career CI .261/.295/.338 (OPS+ of 69) NP .270/.301/.380 (OPS+ of 65) 2006 CI .249/.302/.328 NP .254/.266/.343 You shouldn't let facts and stats get in the way of gut feelings.
