Deal with it. I think that disrespectufl bashing of players sucks and is pathetic. I have every right to voice that opinion. If you think it's cool, so be it. If message boards could be rid of annoyances, there would be none that exist. I annoy you, the bashing annoys me. I'm done talking about this. If Mojo and CubbieChris think Barrett is awful and has always been mediocre to bad, then so be it. I can certainly have my own opinion of those views.

This is a load of crap and you know it. Barrett has been one of the premier offensive catchers over the last two years. La di freaking da. He's been a good hitter and terrible defender. The vast majority of his career has been abysmal, and hopefully his time on the Cubs is near its end. But heaven forbid we say anything bad about him because we owe him so much for the greatness of the past 2 years. Clearly reading comprehension is your shortcoming. no one has said you can't say bad things about players. There's a way to do it respectfully, and a way to do it disrespectfully. doing it disrespectfully makes one look like a jackass.

The last three years, he's been one of the very few reasons to watch the Cubs, and two bad months into the next season, everybody says they can't stand him. Barrett haters remind me way too much of Yankee fans... that whole "what have you done for me lately?" crap. It's disgusting... and it's certainly not befitting of a Cubs fan. Cubs fans on this site that have that attitude like cubbiechris make me sick to be a cubs fan. If a guy has been nails for you for 3 years, you don't throw him under the bus. The same thing happened to Z. It IS disgusting. and Pathetic. I don't like being associated with those types of Cubs fans. A lot of people haven't liked him from the get go. It isn't like he is Sosa who everyone turned on. Exactly. Same with Zambrano. With guys like him and Barrett, there have been criticisms with them since they started playing for the team, and many of those criticisms are very serious and valid points that should weigh heavily now that both are in the last year of their contracts. What a load of crap. I'd love to see all the criticism re: Z during 03 04 and 05. He was a GOD around here.

You should absolutely support the player if he's on your team. But that doesn't mean you can't be critical of a player either. Um because no one should have WANTED him to? He's not good at that velocity. 93 is optimum for his sinking fastball. But he's young, and he wouldn't be the only one to react irrationally when he perceived his manhood as being challenged.

i don't understand why people love z. In 2004, I remember, he was the most-liked player on this board. He also happened to be pitching like a guy that deserved the Cy Young award. Hes had good years pretty much ever year. He struggles for 2 months and cubs fans turn on him? That's about par for the course with this board. ERA+ Last 5 years in reverse chronolgical order: 136 131 165 136 110 But yea, lets throw him under the bus. We as a fan base seem to excel at that. :roll: For clarification, I wouldn't mind trading him, for the right stuff (though that won't happen in his contract year).
