    2 people have to get on base for Murton to get another AB. Neifi won't, so 2/3 of Barrett, Burntiz, or Cedeno will have to.

    He's not a tiny kid, he's a big young kid, he can handle it. 120 pitches really isn't that much. I think pitchers have become coddled too much over the years. He saved the pen (do you really want to see them guard a 5 run lead?). Now it will go Wuertz, dempster if needed. Who will we use if Dempster isn't needed? Ohman? Remmy? Have Dempster ready if it starts to slip.

    Care to restate the comment? If 7 IP, 3 ER, and 7 K's (Despite BB's) is struggling, then give me struggling every night. Z's a workhorse. He'll be fine. And actually he normally falls apart EARLY if he falls apart. Most of the time he's gone deep he's had 1 hitters or really good games going. IIRC.

    .259/.285 But he's Dusty's guy. (Not that cedeno is lights out, but he really hasn't had a chance, Dusty cooled him off nicely on the pine).

    I think it's blatantly obvious that this was forced on him from above. Especially because Murton is starting 2 out of the first 3 games. I got no problem with that too. But no way Dusty would play him 2/3 unless Hendry didn't have him by his ballsac.

    I'd say Ramirez isn't really that streaky. He had a bad start this year, but he isn't "streaky". I don't think Todd Walker is "streaky" either. Hairston seems pretty consistent as well.

    Hard to believe that Murton has made a better first impression than Nomar did. Eh, Garciaparra batted .300 with 40 some RBI's when he came over to us didn't he? I thought he fit in pretty well. And I think everyone loves Murton, because we are FINALLY playing some youngsters. I love Murton too. Just saying.

    So I'm just joining the thread, got back from a good workout. I see I missed that Murton is god, and that the youngsters are providing a spark. We have 3 WALKS already? Neifi is still sucking, Barrett found his rythym again, Z is pitching well, Willis sucks against us in Fla and I haven't seen this much excitement on a game thread in over 2 weeks. Anything else?

    Your new favorite team is a team that's just one game better than the Cubs?? Well the fact that they could make up that many games on the cubs, says something for the character of their team, and that of ours.

    I'm done with this team until major changes are made. I hope they do well, but I'm done wasting my time on a team with a manager who would trot that lineup out. I really wouldn't mind if Dusty fell off the edge of the earth, if it meant not seeing him manage this team again.
