  1. Please don't trade a 27 year old pitcher that throws 97 with the capabilities of ridiculous stuff. Just don't do it. How long did it take Ryan or Schilling to reach their potential 6 years right? Kerry's had 8. If we trade him and he becomes an absolute stud all the time, I might cry. Yes I have bias, but pitchers like Wood don't grow on trees (no pun intended). You can't teach anyone his stuff. And If I hear one more person talk about Wins, I'm going to have to make an educational thread on why Wins mean just about nothing. I don't want to attack posters personally, but anyone using wins as a bench mark for a pitchers effectiveness needs to read up a little bit more about baseball.
  2. Sammy Sosa 9 HR 27 RBI 28 BB 50 K .225/.305/.383/.689 Jeromy Burnitz 14 HR 46 RBI 34 BB 58 K .276/.342/.475/.817 + What Hairston has done at the top of the lineup = Take the juice away from Sosa and Hendry made a great decision, regardless of the $$. I was incredibly negative on the deal at the time, I can admit it. Who else was pissed when they signed Beernutz? We can all fess up here.
  3. Rusch is just plain bad out of the pen. I think he should be a prime trade candidate for a team that needs starting pitching.
  4. FLA pitchers = 167 pitches Maddux = 97 pitches nice.
  5. You know it's a blowout when Brenly's talking about Whoopie Cushions.
  6. Could we kidnap Miggy and transplant him to Chicago?
  7. Where did you read that about Wood volunteering to monitor Greenberg?
  8. Sorry about that. I meant to quote the last two comments instead of just one. No worries Jon!
  9. I'm pretty sure they showed both Greenberg and Murton on the bench earlier on WGN. Yeah, Greenberg is on the bench and in uniform. He went for the tests earlier today. But there's no way he's playing today. You quoted the wrong person, I didn't type that.
  10. I can understand that. Like most of us were complaining, the 12 pitchers. I think that is hurting us more than it's helping us IMHO. As much as they talk about cutting the staff down to 11, I'd be quite surprised to see it happen. And for no reason other than to spite Grieve's OBP. Actually Greenberg isn't at the park I don't think. Pat mentioned earlier that in order for him to fly tonight he had to get an MRI for a concussion. If he plays today it would be a miracle. I'm pretty sure they showed both Greenberg and Murton on the bench earlier on WGN.
  11. NO WAY! Joe Morgan is a god and is always right! It was Phil Rogers they were talking about.
  12. tough to hit it out of the park the other way in FLA. Good job getting the runner home and the runner to 3rd.
  13. lol. I don't think Lee is used to having people on base - he hasn't looked great with runners on lately. He needs adjustment time.
  14. 5 walks. Wow. Dusty is not liking this at all.
  15. 30 pitches through 3 for Maddux 70 pitches through 3 for Leiter Are these our Cubs?
  16. He had one right in his wheel house. It's good to take pitches, but it's not good to take strikes.
  17. Although I want Cedeno playing, Good job Neifi!!!
  18. Man, Jerry is really working out at the top of the order.
  19. Game Center is showing all the swings at balls out of the zone, is that correct?
