It might've just been speculation, but I thought I heard that they'd be able to keep him til the deadline since they moved Greene, though they still have to trade him at some point this year. Peavy has a full no trade clause. Moving him at the deadline would likely be much more difficult than moving him now. Peavy doesn't have to approve a trade to anyone. Towers would be doing himself a favor and taking what he can get for him now, rather than risking that he can't move him at all at the deadline. I understand that, I was just talking from a financial standpoint.
