Cost. Boldin looks to be staying with the Cards, Johnson and Housh are hard to get, and Angelo would never bring TO in. It would be fantastic if the Bears brought a #1 in, it just won't happen. Angelo looking at Holt is a Bears move, plain and simple. A declining WR who won't cost an arm and a leg. You might as well take a shot at Maclin or someone in the draft then. In 2-3 years he'll be more of a #1 than Holt would be. Yeah I would like to see Maclin drafted. But when was the last time the Bears drafted a WR in the 1st? I'm just assuming what Angelo will do based on his past. I think he would rather take the 'proven' Holt over drafting someone, and focus on reinforcing his defense. If he can't make the move for Holt, I would still be shocked to see him grab a WR in the 1st. He doesn't place a high priority in the receiver positions. I have no confidence in him going offense oriented, and with the way the D played last year he actually has a point. He's either going to bring in a declining vet (Holt) or look for a receiver on the 2nd day. I don't see him passing on DE in the 1st with the pass rush the way it is currently. I see your point. I just hope Angelo realizes that while the D needs upgrading, he shouldn't completely ignore the offense (like he did for years when he stocked up our D). We need a WR, we need OL help, we need DL help, we could use an LB and we need a Safety. If Larry [expletive] English is the best DE available, I hope he looks at another position. I also hope he doesn't get Holt just because he used to be good and he's a big name. He already tried that once with Muhsin Muhammad.

I'll be honest, as much as I dislike ST, I love this thread every year. This year, though, I'm just not really feeling it. I blame Hendry.

wasnt there, can't blame me. plus its the first time we've beaten kansas at home in like THREE GAMES. COME ON RAISIN. Rushing the court is fun. Why do some people hate when other people have fun? I'm not against storming the court at all. If we weren't ranked coming into this game, or weren't as high as we ended up getting in the latest polls, it would've been fine. However, since we were three spots behind kansas in one poll and one behind them in the other, it wasn't something I really wanted to see us do. We're trying to get back to being a nationally-recognized program (for things other than Quin Snyder's drugs, hair, illegal recruiting, etc.), and IMO people don't really take you seriously if you're storming the court after your #17 team beats the #16 team. But as myself and TT said, it wasn't really a full-out storm, so it's no harm no foul in my opinion.

Talking to a few people that were there, it doesn't sound like it was a full-out storm of the court. I guess after the buzzer went off the players ran over to the student section to celebrate and the fans kind of poured out around them, which eventually moved to the court. Still lame, but not as lame as saying "[expletive] it, let's go!" Maybe TT can shine some light on it.

Guys don't be jealous of our 5 year NCAA Tourney drought. It's embarrassing.

thats what i was saying to a friend. the reffing isnt the reason we're playing awful, but the reffing is garbage in it's own right.

demarre just got murdered. this game is over. nice comeback, but not enough time left and we cant get over the hump.
