  1. You forgot putting Riot in the 2-hole, playing Monroe, and "getting Dempster some work in". Lou is doing all that he can do to blow this. I just freaking love all this talk about how Lou hasn't taken anything for granted. GEE, I COULDN'T TELL. Man, I haven't been this angry in a long, long time.
  2. Oh still feel like we'll make it, but these damned soap droppers will let the Brewers catch us first. If the Brewers take the division, I'll go freaking nuclear. To tell you the truth, I rather lose to the Cardinals. At least they have done it to us before. No the johnny-come-lately Brewers with their arrogant jackass fans who act like they can actually remember the last time the Crew even had a distant whiff of the playoffs. No, F U Milwaukee.
  3. No, if the Cubs blow this, it will be legendary by even our standards. I am freaking furious.
  4. Starting Trachsel PH with Murton instead of Ward Sticking with Trachsel Bringing in Eyre Playing Theriot We just got Piniellaed.

  7. I know I'm late to the thread, but man this game has been horrible. I love how Len and Bob were saying no one is thinking about the postseason, and trying to win each game, but if that's the case, why would you pitch Trachsel today? Or keep talking about the playoffs like it's a foregone conclusion?
  8. That's what happens when you fall behind everyone, fool

  10. Oh heck, the whole team has been awful. Theriot has a .561 OPS in September. He needs to be on the bench. He has a .525 OPS his last 28 days. I know it's a tiny sample, but Cedeno has OPS'ed over 1.000 this month.

  12. DirecTV channel 247. I totally forgot about the launch of new HD channels, and just discovered them now. Sweet.
  13. I think the Brewers will win 3 this weekend and I don't know if the Cubs can pull off 2-2 the way they have looked this week. I'm thinking they go 3-1. If we can go 2-2 we've got this. Well, that's what I said. I'm not sure the Cubs can win 2. Haha! Sorry, that's Miller Lite talking. I agree with you on the Brewers but I think we can go 2-2. Yeah, and having both Dunn and Griffey done for the year doesn't hurt our chances in Cincy.
  14. IMO, there's only one way Peavy doesn't pitch Sunday, and that's if the Padres win 2 or all of the first 3 games in Milwaukee. I hope he doesn't have to. Either way, it's a plus for the Cubs. If the Pads drop the first two or three and fall out of contention by Sunday, you don't think it'll be more important to the pdas that they get a look at a prospect and give peavy his entitled rest than play spoiler? Well, if the Pads lose the first three and the Phils and DBacks win the next three, but I don't see that happening. Philly faces Smoltz tomorrow, and Arizona is staggering. Plus the DBacks have to play Colorado over the weekend, and the Rockies are smoking hot right now. It seems likely that either the WC or the West (possibly both) will go down to the last day.
  15. Especially when Hill could go on proper rest. And I bet his curve would really bite in that heavy air.
  16. No, it's just a way of rooting for them.

  18. Well I guess that would work better since I don't think I would really know where to get any. Well then bring some spoons.
  19. Thank you Ned, for intentionally plunking Pujols with no outs while down 1 in a critical game. You turned a very winnable game into a blowout, and bailed the Cubs out. Big time.
  20. And thankfully there will be no Dunn. Or Griffey. :D
  21. Sam Cassell may be the ugliest athlete in sports history. If he didn't have that NBA money, he may have ended his life involuntarily celibate.
  22. Padres up 8-1 in the fifth, and Philly has already won. Maybe Peavy will be pulled early with a possible Sunday start in mind.......
