  1. That was all we heard about for the last 4 years. seriously Like sulley said, that's why Weber is about to lose his job.
  2. That's what I love about Iowa fans. Give them an inch of success and they get cocky/mouthy as hell. Growing up amidst that is what has made me hate Iowa so.
  3. [expletive] that noise. Book it. Next year will be the first time in 6 years where Iowa will actually have middle of the pack talent and depth. Illinois will be more talented if everyone comes back, but if not? Right now I would bet on Softy McSofterson leaving, at least 1-2 transfers from your other top 100 recruits, not much available to add late and everyone else having a first year coach. Get a good look at that view from below boys. If Jerrance Howard stays, you won't see much talent loss. Leonard will probably go, but that may be it. Keep Howard and make a good hire and we'll be top half of the B1G in fairly short order. And it's hard to overstate how mismanaged the current team was talent-wise. I'm not the least bit worried about being mired behind Iowa.
  4. [expletive] that noise. Book it.
  5. I think there is a very real possibility that the area surrounding Wrigley doesn't survive the celebration. I tell people here in Texas that I think the whole city may implode. If it does, I will go with it. No way the Cubs are in the WS and I'm not in Chicago even if I can't get a ticket. I told my wife in 2003 and 2008 that if the Cubs made it to the WS and it looked like they would have a potential clinching game in Chicago, I was going to be taking off work and school and flying up there, if even just to stand on the street outside. She, of course, said I was crazy. Which I am. Being so emotionally invested in an team/game that has no tangible effect on your life and over which you have absolutely no control of is [expletive] crazy. But it is what it is.
  6. As I said a couple months ago, get used to looking up at us in the standings boys! Yeah, not so much.
  7. theus is certainly the anti-weber. i'd be ok with him, especially if he brought parker with him. Would you be OK with him if he didn't bring Parker? Because he seems like something of an unknown and Parker seems like a one and done to me. He's pretty popular down here in NM, but there's not a whole lot of track record to go on.
  8. I feel the same way about Weber that I did about Hendry. A "You seem like a good, genuine guy and I really wish you weren't so grossly incompetent. I feel bad for you, but you need to gtfo." sort of sentiment.
  9. :D That sucks for sure, but actually losing to Iowa makes my gorge rise.
  10. Well, that was the final indignity. Losing to Iowa. Being pissed on by a bum after you find yourself in the gutter, so to speak. Can we fire Bruce now, please? And by now, I mean right now.
  11. yeah because an unpopular cub fan who has basically avoided the media spotlight for 9 years is going to come out of hiding just to stick it to the team he supports. good call. This guy can't be more than 12 years old. Thinking of something remotely original (or that makes sense) might be asking for too much.
  12. If we're not going to compete, what does it matter? What would the team be losing by waiting a month or two to bring him up? Is it worth a year of team control to have him on the roster in April/May in a rebuilding year? Just because you have more money than the Pirates doesn't mean you should be stupid. How do you know they're not going to compete? He probably looked at the roster. I'm not ruling contention out, but like you said, you look at the roster and also see that there are three teams in the division clearly outclassing the Cubs from a talent standpoint and you realize the odds aren't good. At all. And rolling the dice every time you have even a glimmer of hope isn't going to serve your best interests in the long term. Even if we were likely to contend, the question becomes does BJax give you enough more than Marlon Byrd in April and May to justify sacrificing a year of his eligibility (one of his prime years)? Not unless he absolutely lit the league on fire for two months. Other than simply to satiate people impatient to see our top prospects in action, there's not a single explicable reason for Brett to break camp with the big club.

  14. Wow. Felons partially funding an illegal bounty/injury system with the complicity of the HC? Yeah, the Saints are in deep [expletive]. How many top picks are they going to have to surrender, I wonder?
  15. God, I hope so. All I want to see at this point is the presser where they announce Bruce is gone.
  16. LOL, WTF Hopefully Painter makes sure one of his boys isn't naked and lashed to something in bowels of the fake Assembly Hall before the bus leaves Bloomington. But seriously, that's creepy as [expletive].
  17. I'm pissed we drew Iowa, because I want this season to be over and there are 10 other teams in the conference I could tolerate losing to. But not the Hawkeyes. If by some strange confluence of circumstances the Illini had won today I might have had to root for Iowa to beat us, which I'm fairly certain would make my head explode.
  18. Yes plz Get an open flame near most Wisconsinites and you'll have a [expletive] grease conflagration.
  19. I'm not sure mine would beat UI right now, but the fact I have to think about it is pretty shameful.
  20. Of all Kaplan's "ideas", that might just be the worst.
  21. Yeah, I think Goodell is going to put a hurt on the Saints. I don't see how he couldn't, given his agenda. I'll be surprised if he doesn't make an example of them.
  22. Right. Same here. uh oh we got an nsbb group think going on here. Davearm will be assimilated into the collective. Resistance is futile.
  23. It's too bad Myers will be gone next year when we have a coach who might have pointed out the importance of feeding the best player on the floor, especially when it's plainly obvious the other team can't deal with him. Which has been like 90% of the games this year. I'm beyond being angry, it's just tragically amusing now.
  24. He's high right now. Has to be. I'm going to guess he's just a doofus.
  25. Even my wife is getting exasperated with Jalen, and she's not even watching the game. He needs to shut up.
