Heh. Welp, I didn't figure this would happen. Thought maybe there would be a tussle to hold the lead in the 8th, maybe a nail-biter 9th. Not a collapse like this.
I wonder how many hitters former reliever Eric Plunk, erm, plunked in his career. Or how many Homers Homer Baily serves up in his career. That's a case where it's a great name for a power hitter, but really bad for a pitcher.
I'm really starting to like Gally at the back end of our rotation. Give me a Rich Hill return-to-form and I'm feeling alright with our rotation provided Z comes back after a couple starts. It's really not that shaky. Demp has been a solid starter before, it's time to stop acting like this came out of nowhere. Hill was projected to be a decent mid-rotation guy for quite awhile. Gally has shown he belongs. Lilly should recover a bit since he's been pitching beneath himself for much of the year.
Proposal to mods: topical ban, Rays series. 1. Game threads deleted. 2. Posts referring to the series, deleted. 3. Stats that take into account the series, adjusted.
This is like some kind of nightmare where you can't figure out where you are. Apparently we've landed back in the '70s on crappy astro turf but all the fans are Cub fans so is this Wrigley???!? My head is spinning, where the hell am I?
Seriously. The rest of the park is like some horrifying synthetic vision of baseball from someone who spent their entire life indoors. Even the "drink race" is a poor copy of something a bunch of other ballparks are already doing.
