  1. Would be a different story in our (read: REAL) ballpark.
  2. Just thank God we wont be back in this God awful place for a very, very long time. How does October sound? I doubt the Rays will be there. Yanks/Red Sox will still finish better.
  3. This is seriously a horrible looking offensive effort so far.
  4. July 10, 2005. The Cubs finished off a 3 game sweep of the Marlins. Since then we've been 0-8 in this fine state. weird

  6. I'll be glad to put these ridiculous faux baseball fields behind us. It just looks like our hitters don't see the ball well here. I wouldn't be suprised if it's the backdrop, the turf, the weird lighting -- the whole bit. Turf baseball sucks in the worst way.
  7. It's all stupid Kristian and his HOF game's fault.
  8. I understand he's got good stuff, but if Shields is so great then why is his ERA+ barely over 100? He's good. Not great. His last 2 starts have been anything but stellar. He's a pretty solid starter. You all just totally ruined my vibe. Thanks!
  9. You must have heard it wrong the second time.

  11. Because the Brewers are the team that we're holding off, not the Cardinals. +1 Cards just showed what they really are.
  12. Thanks for posting that. It certainly seems to be all but decided.
  13. Same here. I'm going on the idea that he has good stuff, he needs to put it all together. That can happen anytime, but let's hope for now. I don't think he's been all that bad. He has put it together to a certain degree. He hasn't given up more than 3 ER since May (albeit his last 3 starts only went 5 innings or so). I think Gally keeps it reasonable tonight. I still don't think this Rays team is all that great. They're playing well though.
  14. I feel like Gally's going to have a good day. Dunno why, just feels that way.
  15. People talking about the other shoe dropping for the Cubs. I've got to wonder if it might have dropped for the Cards. They never seem to get swept at home, much less by the Royals. Crew is on a roll now, I'm more concerned about them than the Cards now (actually I've been more concerned about them the whole season despite their early struggles).
  16. Why wait until after the game? To not affect the team with the news right before they take the field. Anyway, weekend it is. At least I know not to wait around.
  17. my MRI had to be scheduled about 3 weeks out. why should some dude from Venezuela get preferential treatment? Hahaha, don't get me started.
  18. It just occurred to me they might wait until after the game to announce the results. And it also occurred to me that's not a real good thing.
  19. I would consider it a milestone experience to see a World Cup final live. (ehem, since we're talking about Soccer here)
  20. I hate waiting. I'm the guy who will take back roads to avoid the traffic jam on the highway, even if I've proven it is actually still faster to sit in the traffic jam. Just feels like more waiting. Must know. Soon.
  21. All of those guys have enough value to net some decent players like Raul Ibanez or so. If you want to go after an ace like CC, then you need one of baseball's top prospects as a centerpiece for a package. Very few GMs will trade a star for a quantify of good, but not great, players. It's too bad that we can't trade future draft picks like in the NBA, that would certainly help us this year. I, for one, don't think we need CC even if Z is out for an extended period of time. We just need someone who can post decent numbers to keep us in games. Our offense should take over from there -- especially when Sori comes back and even more when he gets hot. We've been winning many ballgames like this in '08, even when Z has been on the mound. There's also Hill/Marshall -- 2 guys who should still be able to give us some quality starts this year.
