  1. I don't know guys, favre still looks really good to me. If he's going to play like this the pack/bears might be fighting for wild cards only
  2. Holy crap! The apprentice strikes back!
  3. Favre draws first blood. Celebrating like it's the super bowl. Naw, it's not about revenge.
  4. Chillar must have missed out on the smart gene
  5. He's a [expletive]. Great drive all goes for naught because our tackles can't block [expletive]. I like the gameplan we have on offense. Hopefully McCarthy doesn't get away from it. Yeah the gameplan seems fine.
  6. Lordy this is going to be fun
  7. At times it was simply horrible. I felt like Brennaman was lost. He seemed totally out of his element. Clearly not the A team.
  8. I'm rooting for at least 14 innings.
  9. Commitment to the run is giving way to "oh crap our line sucks." So they throw?
  10. Maybe he's behind this nonsense? Nightmare scenario: The guy is a "true fan" who met his wife in the bleachers during the run of the 1984 Cubs. He idolizes Sandberg and knows next to nothing about baseball, but since he made billions (with his dad's money) he thinks he understands baseball well enough to know that it's about all the little things (sac bunting, hitting behind the runner, being aggressive, and playing "the right way".) hyperventilating... must stop... Yeah, this whole "he's a true Cub fan" deal -- as if that will automatically mean he's going to be great. I really want to know what kind of organization he's going to run. What is he going to emphasize? If it's nothing more than assembling a troupe of former Cub players, I think we're in trouble. But -- I'll give him a chance.
  11. There's never really been parity in the NFL. Every year there's at least one team that wins 75% of their games and at least one team that loses 75% of their games. There's less parity in the NFL than any other sport. There are, however (assuming Minnesota wins), six 3-1 teams, two 2-1 teams, seven 2-2 teams, a 1-2 team, five 1-3 teams and an 0-3 team. So, really, 4 games into the season the distribution is pretty standard. I guess. I just don't remember the last time 1/3 of the league was either 4-0 or 0-4 after four weeks Slightly abnormal, but probably just an anomaly.
  12. I've always hated how often this team blitzes and teams pick it up like it's nothing.
  13. Pretty unethical move by ESPN, but what else is new? They have to protect their guy. It's not like Packer fans aren't going to know what he said anyway. If they were trying to fool someone, cutting it out for Sunday evening wasn't going to be very effective.
  14. Another thing is Olsen. He had another drop yesterday, and slipped and fell when I really think he shouldn't have.
  15. http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8132186d&template=with-video-with-comments&confirm=true Knox's injury also not thought to be serious, thank goodness.
  16. I won't try to take away what they've accomplished though. Especially yesterday -- that was a great win. And 3-1 would still have been much better than expected given the offseason. I guess it's just another example of why offseason drama and preseason just isn't all that good of an indicator of what will happen when the regular season starts.
  17. I know. They're just so bad. I'm not sure what they are even doing out there now.
  18. My thoughts on the Broncos: If the defense is going to be that good, they don't need much from Orton to win (see: the Bears past 3-4 years). However, there is no scenario in which they are a better team because of the QB change. Well they've had 3 cupcake teams, and then the Cowboys. They have a brutal 4 game schedule coming up. If they win 1 or 2 of the next 4, then they can brag. The Bengals aren't a cupcake team. The Broncos may or may not be the real deal, but they've had two very legit wins now (Dallas and Cincy). Come on though. I'm not a big believer in luck, but 99/100 Denver loses that Cincy game. I'm very hesitant to call that a "legit win," they looked pretty bad most of the game and snatched the victory on one nearly impossible play.
  19. Some reports say his knee was dislocated on the Ogun play. He probably won't play next week, so we'll have to wait to see if the trend continues. He seems to move better in the pocket than I expected, and he can definitely make all the throws.
  20. The TD run was great. He puts moves on, but he's doing it while moving downfield. Exactly what I want to see.
  21. Not sure if you were serious, but they do, in fact, exist. They're both 1-AA teams. I'm pretty sure he wasn't being serious.
  22. All those teams had a chance to sign him in the offseason and wanted nothing to do with the guy. Only the Lions can manage to lose to themselves.
  23. Good
  24. It ended well, but I'm concerned about the poor starts we are seeing. I feel like they're going to dig a hole that is too deep.
